Probably one of the most important games of the season for Messi and least important game for the team.

The team confirmed on Saturday that Messi won't be playing today. I'm not even sure if he made the trip to Valencia.

Levante coach Paco López regarding the pasillo:
"It's a protocol that has been followed for I don't know how many years and the champion of our league is given a pasillo. They deserve it and we will do it."

Exciting lineup. Obviously we want to keep the unbeaten for a whole season thing going. But it is also really important to see Yerry Mina, Semedo, and Dembele among others play, and possibly see a 4-3-3 (though it is not really clear yet whether they are playing that or more of a 4-4-2). I think we can get the win and also rest players like Messi, Pique, Umtiti (injured?), Roberto (suspended). Hopefully we can also bring on Denis, Paulinho, and Paco too. All while winning.

Salah already played his last EPL game of the season and scored only once, so Messi seems to have secured the Golden Boot without playing today and could even sit out the last game too, not that he'll miss the Camp Nou farewell to Don Andres.

That's when Coutinho doesn't have the sheer speed to just go at the goal and take a shot.

Come on in Barca, we don't want to come this far just to lose our unbeaten run.

Really disappointing that we are giving up the chance to make history so tamely.

We have been garbage this first half

No motivation left and everyone probably scared for injuries.. Poor Ver! I hope he doesn't miss the WC.

We looked weak and disinterested to start. Haven't seen such half-assed challenges ina long time. Then Pique came on and it got very businesslike. A Coutinho special (helped by a deflection) and we're in it. Good thing we're a 2nd-half team.

Oh, and that late tackle on Semedo is a clear PK 9/10 times. That 10th time is when it's in La Liga, and it's not LPB.

I expect EV to make adjustments and for the players to raise their game.

Now that we're champs again everyone wants to come out gunning for us, especially with the undefeated streak hanging over us. We gotta play up to their energy level.

on their second goal it was a clear foul on Semedo who got in front of the striker then got kicked/shoved away right in front of the ref , Mina was complaining aboutit afterwards

I honestly don't get going all out in a game when the title is won specially in a WC year. I've said it before that I don't care about the unbeaten seal much. Barca clinched the title unbeaten and facing Madrid twice. That's good enough for me.

Obviously the players feel the same. But what is Levante playing for?

If Valverde wanted to really go unbeaten, he is to blame for leaving the most important player of the team out because he is too important for his nations WC title hopes.

Of course I am talking about Paulinho.

I hope Messi is making the most of this rest. He's gotta win the WC and score a hat-trick in every match to make skipping today OK. [/s]
