Veron was HUGE today. One of the best performances by a player I've seen.

Defending, organizing, attacking, the man was everywhere.

    Cruzeiro imploded.

They left Veron alone in the middle of the field a few minutes after they scored, and that's where Estudantes' equalizer came from. Estudantes became confident again, pressed, and Cruzeiro didn't attack when it should have. After that, Cruzeiro had no options left and Estudantes smelled blood.

Veron could've made it 3-1 with that Veron free kick, and Cruzeiro was unlucky that shot hit the crossbar.

It was a fun Libertadores. Onto 2010 (but not before World Cup qualifying ends and so does the Brasileirao).

3 years in a row actually. Gremio got spanked in Brazil by Boca in 2007.

Congratz to Estudiantes, a well deserved victory. I found myself rooting for them at the end, they just seemed to be the more likable team.

Yeah, but Gremio wasn't in a position to win, unlike Fluminense (PK's) and Cruzeiro (leading at home).

Estudiantes L.P. vs. Barcelona F.C. will fight for best team of the world.

Yeah, the party's started in the stadium already. 5,000 fans of Estudiantes made the trip, and 70,000 fans of Cruzeiro started leaving the Mineirão early.

Gremio was outmatched by a better Boca team.

Fluminense choked during the PKs and it vacillated in Quito, allowing a 4-2 loss (I think LDU made it 4-1 before they scored a 2nd goal).

    Cruzeiro imploded.

Sao Paulo and Internacional are the only teams from Brazil to win the Libertadores in the 21st Century... and at least SPFC didn't choke when they faced Newell's at home (same w/ Palmeiras vs. Deportivo Cali in 1999).

I'm not talking about Arg. vs Bra., just Bra. at home. They tend to be shaky at home sometimes.

I seriously Doubt it.. What is it with South America already talking about a Estuduantes vs bareclona final in tokyo. Don't they take into account that other Confederations actually compete? They did the same thing last year. LMAO.. With this win is it 12 to 4 or 13 to 4 in our favor when we play Brasilian in the copa Libs Final? Anyways Congrat to El Pincha. I didn't see the Bruja Veron there..
