Would be interesting to see what a former defender like Berhalter can get out of him. He never seemed to find his way in the chances Klinnsman gave him.

Lletget called up. Please stay healthy!!!!!!

Looking forward to these games. This is a pretty unsurprising roster, and I'm excited for games that matter (yes, it's against Cuba...whatever, it's games that matter).

You'd call it strange? This is pretty consistent with who Berhalter has called up in the past with a couple of exceptions, but even those aren't coming out of nowhere.

Bobby Wood has not played good football in some time. That one isn't surprising to me.

Bobby wood I get, but I have a soft spot for him. His downfall has been a shame because I actually think a 2017 Bobby wood would be perfect for Gregg.

I presume Berhalter has his core and is trying to build it.

I guess the volume of recent traffic on this thread is an indicator of how excited we are about the Nation's League (Not to be confused with the League of Nations).

I think I'd prefer Alphabet of Nations...

Julian Green? He's looking decent in the 2.Bundesliga? I just assumed he'd slipped into obscurity (which probably says more about how much attention I pay than anything esle).

Do you think if just walking down the street Julian Green ran into Jurgen Klinsmann they'd just make eye contact and then without saying anything point at each other, and then break into laughter?

I'm sure whatever happened, it'd be less awkward than if he ran into Robbie Rogers...

I wish he ran into me. I would give him a cathartic kick in the shin and claim self defense.

Tell him it's a tribute to what he did to that advertising sign when he got subbed during his last game for Bayern.

Please comment here. I was on the US Men’s board for first half. Shudder.

My interest in the USMNT has been so shattered from Klinsmann that I didn't even know they were playing a game right now...

Finishes 2-0. You’ll hear people describe this as one of the worst performances in USMNT history.

    It’s not an exaggeration.

The men's national team is a disgrace, it is the epitome of mediocrity. Beat Cuba a baseball nation and lose to Canada a freaking hockey nation! You know what we as a nation do not deserve to be in any meaningful football competition. We can just stink up the joint playing regional concacaf tournaments. It's an embarrassment that we are a laughing stock for all football loving nations. They have more respect for the women's team!

This isn’t and hasn’t been the national team I feel in love with. We were known for our heart and grit. If you were playing us, you knew we had no quit in us.

That has sadly been stripped from us by a series of managers.

Remember that counter attack goal against Brazil in the Confed Cup in 09? That’s the team I loved. We knew Brazil was more skilled but we played smart, never quit or shied away. We eventually lost but damn I was proud.

That was pathetic. Berhalter isn’t getting effort or passion or performance from his players. I know it’s not all on him but I think we may need a change.

Earnie will be patient, so Berhalter will be there awhile. It is a hard team to watch. I’ll say this, my Galaxy has prepared me, because I expect the defense to collapse and the offense to be mediocre. I miss Donovan. We’ve been mediocre to bad since he left. And great coaching is hard to find.

And many would agree with you.

And if it were Klinsmann, many of those same people would say "It has to get worse to get better... he's implementing a new tactical style... he needs time...".

Me personally, I think USSF needs to work harder AND smarter on developing a comprehensive development curriculum and putting the many disparate parts of the US soccer landscape into a proper framework.

Time to fire Berhalter? No idea.

I think that we became too fixated on what the rest of the world was doing. As Americans, we looked at Spain and Germany and Mexico and thought, “why don’t we play like that?” It’s this inferiority complex we’ve been dealing with for decades.

The hiring of JK was to remedy that and help us find an identity but the problem was and continues to be that we HAD an identity.

We’re the gritty, never say quit Americans. We aren’t going to wow you but we’ll get a result when we need it. We’ll counter when we need to. We’ll absorb pressure and tie 0-0. There was never nothing wrong with that. It worked.

I’m heartbroken we went away from that. That’s what I mean when I say this isn’t my team anymore. It’s okay to change and evolve but I think that ultimately, we chose to change into something we just aren’t. We’re not Spain. We’re not Germany. We’re not Mexico.

Also, bit off topic, but why is Ream playing with the national team? How ********ing low is the bar now??
