I think you can get washed up just as easily in Italy, unless you have the talent and drive at a young age. The only American to succeed in Italy as a kid so far is Rossi. The other 4-5 have flamed out after leaving Italy. (They are not even good enough for MLS) Of course this is a small sample size. Chelsea has become awful at promoting youth talent. I think John Terry may be the last Chelsea developed player not to have spent at least 2 seasons on loan.
I haven't followed those other kids careers closely but I assume they flamed out in Primavera, which imo is one of the better youth leagues around. I'm saying this with it in mind that he's good enough. He'll get more first team opportunities in Italy than he would other leagues were if he didn't make the grade he'd languish for a few years around a reserve team until he left losing years he could have been playing. Players move around much more freely and clubs are much more willing to start several loaned/co-owned players.
Yes. Both, of course, are eligible for England and the US. I believe their father is former Newcastle player Kevin Scott. Both have seemed to waffle regarding national team allegiance, but Kristian seems to be more "on board" with the US than Kyle. We'll see........................

Sorry, just now joining the party. What did these two tweets say? I follow him on twitter and Instagram and I remember there being a picture of him signing a paper.. Something about his scholarship, I think. Is that what these were referring to, or was it something else?
I guess he deleted the tweets. No idea what the one back in May said, but the recent one was saying he had signed his "scholarship" with Chelsea.
Thanks! I figured one of them was related to his scholarship as I saw him mention in somewhere on social media recently.
Kyle Scott scored in a 4-1 win for Chelsea u18s today over Bournemouth. Faiq Bolkiah also played in the match.
Kyle Scott, Midfielder Young Kyle comes from footballing stock; his father Kevin is Stoke City’s Head of Recruitment, whilst older brother Kristian is on Swansea’s books. Kyle is a midfielder who prefers to rely on technique and craft to give him an advantage in situations where he might be physically outmatched, and after suffering a broken leg fifteen months ago is fit and raring to go at the start of his scholarship. Perhaps impressively for one so young, he has already represented three countries at youth level as England, the United States and the Republic of Ireland all compete for his services. http://thechels.net/2014/07/the-2014-15-academy-first-year-scholars/

Random thought but I've always wondered about the correlation between captaincy at the youth level and a players likelihood of making it as a pro.
