like Killaroca said, Koreans could be pretty bad to foreigners too. Look at Tadanari Lee. He was teased the crap out of by his Korean teammates in the youth level.
I understand that, but he rather represents the nation that systematically starved our ppl and enslaved them in the past? And did not adequately apologize yet. And I am pretty sure (correct me if I am wrong) that our nation lost large pieces of land (Harbin, Yanbian etc) b/c of the Japanese. Just knowing this, the decision would be very easy to me. His decision makes no sense to me
bc u dont know his life. national allegiance usually comes from personal experience rather than diplomatic history
that may be true but I use logic and reasoning to make decisions and not base it upon certain incidences. Sure it is messed up that your own countrymen decided that it was ok to tease you (if I was the coach I would beat the living crap out of every single one of those guys. I have severely punished boys for similar situation during my time as a baseball coach). But making a decision of representing a country should be carefully thought out. He honestly probably got respect in Japan because of his footballing abilities. In different scenarios his life experience would probably be different. I will put my money on the possibilities of his parents being discriminated against in Japan.
There is no one named Marvin Park, there is Marvin Akinlabi and he is Nigerian by the 5000 years old Korean tradition as well as those of 90 percent of countries all over the world. It is really childish to talk about who is more racist but Nigeria beats both Spain and Korea in racism by a huge margin. Tadanari Lee's case is not really racism as he is a full blooded ethnic Korean; it is more akin to regionalism. There is still a lot of it in Korea unfortunately. In fact even among BSK members ... Nigerians' treatment of Europeans is quite racist. Their treatment of East Asians, even worse. But their treatment of the Pygmy people tops it all. It is a crime against humanity.
Actually he is Marvin Park at least by transfermarkt... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marvin-park/profil/spieler/603940 But I do see him more as Nigerian-Spanish than Korean anyway.
Marvin Park is the name he goes by. Even on his social media accounts. https://instagram.com/marvinnpark https://twitter.com/Marv_Park03
He might play Spanish youth for now since he’s getting called up and he doesn’t have to travel far and then choose either Nigeria or KNT for senior level. Like every Algerian-French player.
KFA & FC Bayern agreed to a partnership. Special programs for youth players and coaches & friendly matches for youth teams, exchange programs and training camps for youth teams are part of the agreement.
"The KFA said its deal with Belgium includes sharing information on youth football and coaching programs. The deal also allows the South Korean national football team to use facilities in Belgium when training in Europe." "With Croatia, the KFA said it exchanged information on training and tournament operations and discussed future friendly matches between youth teams."

there was a Bolton fan who posted on reddit about their team that went down. Had some nice words on LCY https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/ah07c7/the_bolton_wanderers_team_relegated_from_the/
Most devastating injury to a KPA in terms of actual time out + significance? I remember BSK falling into a deep depression when it happened.. Tom Miller will never be forgiven. Cha Boom's injury, Park JS's knee and Kwon Chang Hoon are the others that come to mind.
http://www.spotvnews.co.kr/?mod=news&act=articleView&idxno=264617 Koo Ja Cheol and Hong Myung Bo were apparently the main reason we got the MOU with Bayern. Koo found out Bayern were looking for a partner in Asia and called Hong about it, Hong quickly flew out to Germany and met with the Bayern CEO to close the deal. The KFA (at least some members) actually doing some good work for once.
