I suppose we'll see in the summer what his true value is but for now I just don't believe any of these supposed rumors linking him to Liverpool or United.

Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung will lead a host of Korean football stars to play in a charity event, the Asian Dream Cup, in Bangkok in May. The one-day event on May 23 at Muang Thong United ground is a project of the JS Foundation, founded by Park, 31, who joined the English Premier League champions in 2005, with an aim to help push young Asian talents on to the international stage. The former South Korea international will feature in the International All Stars team, which also include the likes of Glasgow Celtic's Ki Sung-yueng, Bolton midfielder Lee Chung-yong and former Roma star Hidetoshi Nakata, against the Thai All Stars team led by former national striker Kiartisak "Zico" Senamuang. The proceeds from the game will go to charity organisations. Apart from the action on the pitch, there will be a clinic for young Thai players conducted by Park Ji-sung himself and other Korean stars such as striker Jong Tae-se of German club Cologne. Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson sent his good wishes through a video message at the press conference yesterday. "I know the work Park does. His charity foundation is well known. So I would like to say that Park is a fantastic professional. He has a real caring heart. "Whatever he is going to achieve out there, I hope he will enjoy it. It's a fantastic contribution to the welfare of others. He's fantastic in that way. Have a good day and all the success," said the Scottish manager, who signed Park from Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven. Kiartisak, the current coach of Thailand Premier League side Big Bang Chula United, believes the presence of Park will inspire Thai kids to pursue their dream of becoming a professional player. "I think what our children can gain most from the event is the experience of Park Ji-sung, who fought his way to play at the highest level. I don't see there is a big difference between what we do here and in other countries in terms of coaching techniques when training the kids. But they will learn other matters such as how to adapt to high-level football," Kiartisak said. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/sports/Park-Koreans-stars-to-play-charity-match-30179034.html
Jeez another useless match against 쓰레기 opponents in SE Asia? I hope the Double Dragons don't go. Honestly, fucck off PJS.
Lol I tried making this case in the Korean web, but by the end of it, I was the one being told to lay off by multitude of people, citing that the event was for the poor children and for those fans in a non footballing power who aren't often displayed with top quality football. Of course I wasn't then smart enough to retaliate with the fact that the event was 10% to help the poor and 90% for political purposes and raising the publicity sake but how much better did these fans believe Korean football was compared to the football in south Asia to have bought into Park's ploy I still have no clue. A team filled with a group of washed up, or otherwise couldn't-even-give-the-slightest-shit Korean and Japanese players, Jung Daesae, and minor leaguers of amateur university league and second division Chinese league did not make for a good show case the first time around, and will likewise never make for a good show case, ever.
Its not about the football quality... few expect these charity events to be great vs people getting to see their hero/role model up close. Too bad you are correct about the ratio of help to politics.
"no i don't want anything to do with the KNT anymore, but i'll be damned if you guys don't play in my shitty charity match in the mothafcuking jungle" what's he trying to prove with this? what a great humanitarian he is?

People still love it when I tell them about that story of Ahn Junghwan losing his contract. I still find it fascinating.
The manager of Perugia was a dick. He said word for word "He ruined Italian football". Glad Perugia went downhill from there. They used to play for Serie C but are now bankrupt.
