Looks like he was diong crossbar challenge. Not a bad shot though

 

This defense is a disaster. 4 guys covering the guy with the ball and nobody on the free man. And then the closest defender gets beaten and the three other guys just mill about.

 

wishful but I hope Koo is pushing hard for Mainz to take a look at PCY. they really have no depth after Okazaki in FW position except Poulter, random dude they kept loaning out to bundesliga 2/3liga (but failed miserably there too), or young Devante Parker (but really a winger).

anyways, the new guy from Benfica seems quick... i wonder why he isn't playing as winger over Koo.

yup, him and Saller. has done well in winning the ball back a few times and with his distribution. good for him to prepare for AG

 

too bad the LB is so terrible.

Nice seeing Park on that position again.

 

too bad they aren't impressive, even with 1-0 lead through Zimling's good goal. Okazaki is hardly getting a touch on the ball, and well.. majority of their good moments have come from booting the ball to Koo & whatever that followed afterwards from his knock downs.

 

Yeah, cohesion and compactness is still not there and nothing really fits well due to that. But I'm happy that Hjulmand doesn't see Park solely as a LB, it could have been only Tuchel putting him there.

Edit: Jara shows he just isn't a CB even when played there...

It's fun to watch. We knew before that the Mainz defense is weak, so getting to see many goals and Mainz possibly still winning is not too bad. (Oh come on Okazaki...)

 

how did Okazaki miss that??? oh well..

anyways, PJH was heck of a player for Mainz last season (while many of you laughed at me). clearly their best LB and good LCM playing next to Geis. he did a great job of playing as LB but also covering for Diaz when he played LCM.
