He's coming in on 10 years living in Spain later this year. Bottom line, he can never play for Spain if he plays in this tournament and isn't a Spanish citizen yet. He could only leave the U.S. program by filing a one-time switch to play for Haiti - and that is it.
Who says I'm worried? Just surprised Barcelona is still flirting with these things after getting hammered for it only a few years ago.
It's not really the same. Lederman and the rest of his cohort that ended up in hot water were recruited by Barcelona. Will Vint was in the same situation, and when Vint's father left England he also had to leave.
I always figured he was because he played there for so long and most websites list him as having it, as well as him playing for the Catalan national team. My mistake.

"Every weekend I would be watching Ronaldinho, he was my idol. At the time he was playing at Barca. I was like, man, I would wanna get there, you know? I have always dreamed and worked hard since I was a little kid to make it come true. "Once we came here, I always knew that this was a great opportunity for me to get scouted. I knew they had scouts all over the place. It was just a matter of me playing well and them seeing me. I'm glad I got the chance."
Any news on konrad? Is he going to play for barcelona b this year? He seems like a player that needs 1st team professional minutes so hopefully hes with barca b this year. I believe they play in the 2nd division
Konrad is starting the year with Juvenil A (now managed by former Barca GK Victor Valdes). He hasn't been in the squad for any of the preseason games so far, so my assumption is that he's injured.
He's definitely back from vacation. He appeared in the Twitter video about Valdes' first training with the team.
Konrad is not at the level to play with the first team. There are many players ahead of him with more level at FCB. The 2ndB group where Barca B is in is very tough and I don't see him being a regular there either (not if FCB has any intention in making playoffs). Although he may still get minutes at some games against teams at the bottom of the table...but I just don't see him as a starter
Which is just fine, right, for a player who just turned 18. I would be thrilled if he got 5-10 appearances with Barça B this year, including a start or 3 when fixtures are congested or for youth national team call ups.
Konrad is with Barcelona's Juvenil A squad at this weekend's Otten Cup (hosted by PSV). Barca is in a group with PSV, FC Copenhagen, and Chivas Guadalajara.
