    Highlights here!

I'm not blown away by their 9. He's a big guy with soft feet but his movement isn't good at all and from what I've seen his finishing isn't fantastic either. Konrad put in a decent cross and I really feel like he should have gotten a foot to it.

That's Abel Ruiz, who started at striker for Spain in the U17 WC and scored 6 goals. He also has almost 30 appearances for Barca B. He was effectively playing down today.

Konrad came on at the start of the second half and got a hockey assist in a 3-0 win today.

Get your @SS off the third page, Konrad!

H/T to @DontTreadSoccer on Twitter for posting this article from the Guardian. DLF is even one of the three in the artwork.

Next Generation 2018: 60 of the best young talents in world football

    https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...st-young-talents-in-world-football?CMP=twt_gu

Most young American stars make their way to Germany to continue their football education but De la Fuente has found a home at Barcelona after his family moved to Spain from Miami when he was a child. He is part of Barça's youth set-up and has appeared in the Uefa Youth League this season. De la Fuente's most recent international appearance was for USA Under-18s, where his explosive pace has troubled opposition defences.

Also, only Yank to make the list, fwiw.

We typically only have 1-2 players on this list. Also worth noting that only '01s are eligible.

Last year ('00s), we had two: Weah and Carleton
In 2016 ('99s), we had one: Taitague
In 2015 ('98s), we had one: Pulisic
In 2014 ('97s), we had one: EPB

Plenty of folks on Twitter were rushing to point out how this shows yet again how we can't develop good players. But c'mon, it's a list in a newspaper. It's for clicks, and it's not infallible. Anyone still think Taitague is our best '99, or the only one worth mentioning in this context?

I'd venture to say that literally nobody on earth is actually qualified to make a high-quality list of the best teenagers from around the globe.

Our CONCACAF buddy called up Ballou Tabla which might have opened the door for this chance

He might be in line to start here....Of the players listed in that squad, here are the attackers of the group...

    Rafa Mujica- striker
    Carles Pirez- winger
Nils Mortimer- winger (also from the u19 team with Konrad)
    Konrad de la Fuente- winger

Barca usually plays a 4-3-3, so even if he does not start, I anticipate he will at least get in off of the bench.. Will be interesting to see if they go with Mortimer or Konrad for the start.

Also seems like the reason this is happening is because Ballou Tabla, formerly of Montreal Impact, is on international duty with Canada, AND the other guy who starts on the wing (Kike Severio) got injured in their last match.

I've been wondering this for a while...

Does Konrad getting to Barcelona B mean we move his thread up to the main forum?

From what I can remember, Nils is rated slightly higher by Barca, right? So presumably him?

I think we still have Samuel Shashoua in the YAA forum and he’s playing in the third tier as well (I believe), so I don’t think we would.

Kike and Mateu injured. Ballou and three others on international duty. He and Nils may both start.

So maybe De La Fuente get the professional debut earlier than Akale :)

Akale is already playing at this level: Segunda B. With that said, it is possible Konrad could make a first team somewhere before Akale.

Most international press I have seen have taken more note of his appearance on the Guardian list than his making the game day roster for the B Team. Let's hope he changes that by debuting and impressing.
