Well, we pretty much know the pots:

Pot 1: RSL, Santos, Monterrey, + Olimpia (with a W/D) or PR (with a W)
    Pot 2: Cruz Azul, Columbus, Saprissa, + Toluca (W or D+PR loss) or PR (D + Toluca D/L or L + Toluca L) or Olimpia (L + Toluca D/L). Basically, Toluca.

In any Jack Warner event, I think the fix is in, at least with respect to the draw. So what does Jack want? I think the Mexican teams, and the MLS teams both get drawn against each other, and end up on the same side of the bracket, with one of the second place Mexican sides playing the other Mexican side on the other side.

    Prediction:

    RSL v. Columbus
    Monterrey v. Toluca

    Santos v. Cruz Azul
    Olimpia v. Saprissa

Me too. But I think they'll be drawn together. If not MLS, then I'll take anyone not from Mexico: Saprissa/Olimpia.

By my math, which may be wrong, RSL and Crew can be drawn together. This is the only thing I'm hoping doesn't happen. The other leagues and teams in the CCL, I'm not knowledgable enough on.

    GO MLS!

    When is the quarterfinal draw?

Seeing as RSL - Toluca would make Jack Warner the most money; I suspect that these clubs will mysteriously end up playing each other.

I have relatives in Columbus I could stay with. But isn't Saprissa a couple hours away from some pretty nice beaches?

Well, as long as we have one home game in a snowstorm; I don't care who we play.

I believe the only restriction is that teams in the same Group can't be drawn against each other, and, of course, group winners play 2nds.

So, all the Mexican teams and the MLS teams could be paired.

Rooting for (in order): Columbus, RSL, Olimpia, Saprissa.
Think will win (in order): Monterrey, Santos, Toluca, Cruz Azul.

I totally agree with your idea of having the most powerful teams in the North American Continent in the semifinals for the second straight year- the Mexican teams of course.

If not i think everybody would love to see a Monterrey-Salt Lake final with Monterrey giving mexico it's 28th Champions Cup/League Title:D

side fire: USA teams only have won 2
    Homer Simpson Laugh hehehehehehehe:p

I hope a quarterfinal 100 % mexican or 2 quarterfinals 100% mexican to not to have semifinals with only mexican teams

    Real Salt Lake-Toluca
    Monterey-Cruz Azul
    Olimpia-Columbus Crew
    Santos Laguna-Saprissa

that sucks the two best Mexican teams of the moment are facing each other right away. I hope Cruz Azul wins this tournament, they have the money and the consistency to represent Concacaf proudly in the CWC, as oppose to Pachua that is way past their prime.

That was haitifrancepsg's hopes. The draw hasn't been done yet. The draw is supposed to be done today, but www.concacaf.com doesn't have a new article saying that.

There will be one draw for the Quarterfinals, Semifinal, and Final to determine the matchups and who hosts what leg of each round. The group winners host the second leg of the Quarterfinals but a club could host the second leg of the Semifinal or Final without winning its group. In the quarterfinals, each club can be drawn against one of three clubs, any of the second place clubs in another group if the club was a group winner and any of the group winners of other clubs if the club finished second. Here is who each club could face:

Real Salt Lake: Columbus Crew, Saprissa, or Toluca
Cruz Azul: Santos Laguna, Monterrey, or Olimpia
Santos Laguna: Cruz Azul, Saprissa, or Toluca
Columbus Crew: Real Salt Lake, Monterrey, or Olimpia
Monterrey: Cruz Azul, Columbus Crew, or Toluca
Saprissa: Real Salt Lake, Santos Laguna, or Olimpia
Olimpia: Cruz Azul, Columbus Crew, or Saprissa
Toluca: Real Salt Lake, Santos Laguna, or Monterrey

Or Random, First place finishers against second place finisher with the exception that teams from the same group can not face each other in the quarterfinals

    Just like EvanJ said.

normally any draw for tournament will pair now the clubs from the same country, hoping for a more international final.....

it will be hard this time, with so many mexican teams, overpowering the rest.

All three CONCACAF Champions Leagues have had four Mexican clubs in the quarterfinals. In 2008-2009 it was known before the draw that there would be two Mexican clubs playing each other in the Quarterfinals because three Mexican clubs won groups and the Mexican club who finished second had to play the winner of another group. This season could have none, two, or all four of the Mexican clubs facing each other in the Quarterfinals.

Well, I got the pairings right, it not the brackets.

Looks like Uncle Jack wants to ensure that there is no all-Mexican final this time.

    RSL/Columbus
    Olimpia/Saprissa

    Monterrey/Toluca
    Santos/Cruz Azul

    Picks:
    RSL over Columbus
    Olimpia over Saprissa
    Monterrey over Toluca
    Cruz Azul over Santos

    RSL over Olimpia
    Monterrey over Cruz Azul

    Monterrey over RSL

    Shameful.
    All credibility, out the window.

Why are the two strongest teams in the whole confederation, Cruz Azul and Monterrey, on the same side of the bracket?
