South Korea qualified for Brazil 2014 by the skin of their teeth. They finished second in their group but only via goal difference. Korea stunned the world (with a little help of some dubious refereeing) in 2002 by reaching the semi-finals. Since then, they’ve gone out in the group stages and then the second round in 2010.

‘Kimbo’ wears the number seven shirt for his country but he doesn’t have the same impact on the national team as the previous holder; Park Ji-Sung. Kim isn’t a consistent starter but he can influence games. They play Russia in their opening game before facing Algeria in the second match, a game which could be crucial.

If their qualification depends on a result against Belgium, I’m afraid to say they will be going home early.

Why Cardiff City MUST not let contracts of Jordon Mutch, Peter Whittingham and Kim expire - Scott Johnson

Then you have the players who are in their prime; Jordon Mutch, Kim Bo-kyung, Peter Whittingham and Nicky Maynard, who need to be retained or sold for some sort of profit.

Kim is a more divisive player than Mutch, still prone to decorate games rather than influence them after two years at the club.

He did not benefit from the ‘World Cup effect’ like Gary Medel, starting each of South Korea’s group games on the bench and enjoying only a few minutes of action.

Cardiff spent a sizeable amount on him and Kim gave the impression on signing that he was using the club as a stepping stone. It is more likely that the club would cut their losses rather than lose him to a top club.

Solskjaer is clearly a fan, playing him regularly last season, even when Kim’s performances did not warrant his manager’s continued confidence. Still only 24, he has resale potential and the club need to make a decision on his future.

while he didnt have the best debut in the top flight he still has shown at times he can be great. had success in J.League, Championship, and the beginning of this past season before Cardiff imploded from within. he has no military hanging over his head and his best years to come so i think a mid table club might bite who knows. the reason he might move now is cause his contract runs out next summer.

I’ve always rated Kimbo but, bar a couple of brilliant moments against the Manchester clubs, he struggled last season. As much as he is an incredibly skilful player, he’s very lightweight and lacks defensive nous. It also looks as if he’s a square peg to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s round hole formation. We signed him under the noses of Monaco and Borussia Dortmund and I wonder if any clubs will be sniffing around him this summer. If we get a sizeable bid for him, I wouldn’t be surprised if the club lets him go.

1860 Munich... a Bundesliga 2 club with a fraction of Cardiff's overall budget is thoroughly dominating Cardiff in all aspect of the game (except the score.. somehow it is 2-2).

Kimbo is playing as RW/RM (but more like defensive winger.. )

edit: 3-2 Cardiff..... one chance to break/counter & Cardiff makes the most of it
