He is good enough that it is unlikely 'Veen keep him very long or he ever feels like his options in the N'lands national team system are so limited that he would be served to try to switch to the US. Reviews from his 3 games have been very strong. His consistent path in the N'lands youth system all point to leaving Veen too soon and never getting discouraged enough to file a switch.
Mine as well. I hoping he'd bump along below the radar for a while longer so he had a chance of getting frustrated - and so 'Veen could keep him. But I'm afraid the hype engine has left the station. Never say never, but...
Donot think he will leave 'veen this season or even next season. His parents and himself will think when he's 19 that will be early enough. He has parents who arenot likely to move with him, so going away from 'veen means living on his own. Donot think his parents like that idea and think he doesnot either.
Yep. He's very young and is in a very good situation, but I doubt he stays for 2 full season - or at least not "on the books" for 2 seasons. Someone will buy with a loan back or something, if his year keeps going how it started. At best he stays to 19, but I'll be surprised. Someone's going to want to get in early if they can. And you know the Frysk. They will never part with anything... unless the price is right!
Maybe they get Odegaard to keep plus 100 million from Real Madrid...Nah...make it 150...maybe ..or ..
It's be a Dutch treat, no doubt... I've yet to see him play for 'Veen senior (been spending my dutch soccer recess watching MM mostly) but I'm going to revist the PSV game this week if I get a boring conference call scheduled. That will be enjoyable on many levels.
Kik goes to fight Willem II as Heerenveen is the only unbeaten team left in the Eredivise. If they win and this weekend matches proved to be the too much to chew on for Ajax (vs Vitesse) and PSV (vs FC Utrecht) they could make a jump to spot nr 3.
If both FC Utrecht and Vitesse snap up a draw or maybe even a win, H'veen will be nr 2 as I donot think Excelsior can stop AZ. If this unfolds, we for the first time in years will have a densly populated pack with teams not more that 3 points max apart.
Scrolled through a few of 'veen last matches, Pierie has really come along. Still raw and a bit wild but he's only 17 (won't be 18 till next July) Some moments of him in the video (he's #5) gets off a decent shot at about 46 mins - followed by a close up of the kid.
I've been jinxing Feyenoord, FC Utrecht and AZ, by presumimng both would beat the low flyers at home and FC Utrecht woud give PSV a run for the money. All lost So the unexpected nr 1 is PSV and numero secundo is Heerenveen!!!

highlights of game 6. Not much of note. Kik probably contributed to the 1st goal, only in that he went to get a head on the ball but probably just threw his CD's off by a milisecond. But three 'veen players behind him were the real issue (and a good cross). And an interview. Get on the bandwagon.
Another interview/piece about Kik from a Dutch newspaper. https://www.volkskrant.nl/sport/17-...p-weg-hype-te-worden-bij-heerenveen~a4518201/ There is also this documentary about the sc Heerenveen academy from 2015 that features the Pierie family, unfortunately it's all in Dutch and I don't feel like translating the whole thing but it was interesting hearing his parents discuss the differences between their three sons that all play at Heerenveen. Kik is described as the most impulsive, he puts football first and is perhaps slightly more outgoing and committed (puts in 300%) than his brothers.
He is signing a new contract later today. (Probably after he's done with school for the day) Not yet clear for how many years.

He features in the match highlights versus Ajax and his team lost 4-0. So it is a bad sort of "features". A learning experience.

@Suyuntuy will tell you that putting in 300% is impossible. An debating this with him is the most fun you will ever have. I encourage it. (thanks for the link, btw.)
