Been trying to find out what's up, but haven't uncovered any mention at all. 16 year old AM phenom Naci Unuvar trained with the 1st team for the first time this week. Ajax some midfield injury issues. But no mention of Kik that I can find - either in terms of reason for not being on Jong Ajax or any possibility of playing today. I'm thinking it's unlikely he's on the A team today... either a knock or he's not handling the 2nd team well...

  3. Found this one from 9/11/2019:

Kik Pierie wilde niet het hele seizoen in Jong Ajax spelen
    Plus Maarten Moll

Kik Pierie didnot want to play the whole season in Young Ajax

Well, he was six when the Virginia Tech Shooting happened. And 13 when the MH17 was shot down.

Yeah, that was in the weird 9/11 article I linked earlier.

(A joke so bad I have to use it in two threads....)

And I'm stuck in the wissels with you...

He and Dest on the bench today.

Lots of Young Americans at the "Youth Derby" today, but no Pierie. After being on the bank this weekend, does he make the lille squad too? Haven't seen a line-up yet, but that makes the most sense, I guess.

Ended 1-1. Found one mention of a good D play by Pierie. Not much else.

The tie leaves Jong Ajax in 6th the Eerste. Jong Utrecht is the only U team above them. AZ and PSV also have U teams in the 1st this season. PSV is last, fwiw.

You're making me wonder if the Jong teams prize player development above results.

  13. The development=getting used to real pro football will result in better performance in the league or else the kids have a problem when matches are being analysed.

Kik scored in a 4-1 win against Maastricht. Seems like Jong Ajax is playing 3 games a week these days!

Weird - seems to be not making the Ajax or Jong squad since early Oct.

Did see this. Didn't read article, but headline says "Sometimes I think, "shit where's my mom and dad..." not sure if it's a joke.

He was not in the Jong squad for the Excelsior game. Didn't see anything about a knock but I'm going to contact a few folks.

He last played on the 18th in a loss to Jong AZ. Might just be in the doghouse as he was subbed out and I don't see any mention of a blessure anywhere.

Meanwhile Jong Ajax in 3rd (the other mighty Frysk side leading the pack.) Traore is scoring buckets of goals. Wow.

Pierie got the start but came off at HT with Ajax up 2-0. They ended up taking Den Bosch apart 5-1. Odd to be pulled when you're up 2. Guess he's really not impressing the Ajax folks, unless he's suffering some little injury I've not read about. Jong Ajax up to 3rd in the Eerste.

(edit) Forgot Pierie has been selected for Jong Oranje, so I think injury is unlikely. Maybe just giving him a rest today as game looked to be in hand... I'll see if I can find anything.

  23. Nope, not in the Young Orange selection. Perr Schuurs however is.

Interesting - I was going off some tweets yesterday. Must have been premature (and incorrect). I see Lang not called up either.

Then he's was probably pulled for form not rest yesterday. Tough fall for Pierie. Wonder if he moves soon.

Pierie would like to be invisible?

1195565431999909888 is not a valid tweet id

(Haven't translated the article yet, but the headline was intriguing... except, he kind of has become invisible. yikes.)
