this guy has played left back and center back, right?

as a usmnt supporter watching tim ream WAY too much (with berhalter seemingly set on a third cb as lb), ill reverse my previous position on pierie (ambivelent since hes shown no indication of interest in playing for us) to please god, please.

  2. :ROFLMAO:

Yup, he played both positions, but he's best in the centre.

The competition for Oranje call ups is intense. But playing for Ajax should put him firmly in the KNVB spotlight, especially as they look for a De Ligt replacement (assuming that finally gets wrapped up)

  4. Actually the CD position is a congestion of players at Ajax and is trying to add a Mexican CD to it, Alvarez. He's the main candidate for replacing de Ligt, if Ajax can sign him. PSV wants him too.
Magallan, the Argentinian CD, disappointed in the practice friendly. Per Schuurs, the other young Dutch CD Ajax bought (at 17 captain of Fortuna Sittard!) put in a far better performance.

  5. Isnot it time to change the thread title?

  6. That shirt looks shit on him. He could have worn a soo much better looking one.

  13. It's going to be interesting what's going to happen in the center of the defense.
The signing of the Mexican Alvarez is a done deal now.
So for the center they have now Lisandro Magallan (Argentina), Perr Schuurs, Kik Pierie, Edson Alvarez (Mexico), Blind.
Perr Schuurs in the pre season practice matches was the best of the Ajax bunch and already reminiscent of de Ligt.
I think Ajax over ate themselves with defenders and it's going to cause problems as these are guys who didnot come to Ajax as a bench/sub player.

Two things are looking up for Kik Pierre in these situations. First for as long as I remember Ajax like to have one Left Footed CB and one Right Footed CB. There were some exceptions like De Ligt/Sanches during the Europa League final season and De Ligt/ De Jong the next season but, even then during the Europa League season Viergever was the starter until they promoted De Ligt and they only started De Jong and De Ligt together when Wober was injured. And with all the CBs listed Blind and Pierre are the only ones left footed.

And with Sinkgraven at Leverkusen and Bakker at PSG the only ones who can really fill in at LB are Blind, Pierre and our other buddy Dest. So even if he is not first choice at CB he might get some matches at LB.

Both born in Mass. So, yeah...

(Weirdly enough Mitt Romney is his godfather, which is a crazy coinkydink.)

How else would he have helped invent Universal Healthcare? His Dad was a doc in Mass, Romney invented Universal Healthcare: It's a goddamn syllogism.

This seems like a good thread to ask but, is there a thread for Sergino Dest on here? I can not find it. Dest has been Ajax's breakout performer during pre season and will probably start the Super Cup on Saturday.
