starts in a friendly vs 1BL Bremen. Good chance to try and impress, since he hasn't this season.

replaced at the 46st min by Conteh. Lankford had an average game. Conteh off the bench assisted the winning goal vs Bremen in a 1-0 win and destroyed the defense numerous times between his dribbling/speed. They struggled to even contain him.

at this point Lankford just seems very far away from having much impact. He seems to do well enough in RL level but so far has been unable to take that to pro level. Wonder if he ends up on loan between Winter and Summer?

scored a double in a 6-0 win for Pauli II. Massive win for them since they were bottom 2nd and now getting closer to get out of relegation zone.

the Dutch coach Jos, pretty much called out 3 young wingers that he really likes and that he wants them to be fit again as they could be useful for his team. Conteh is one of them who's had fitness issues and likely for now can't play more than sub role but not Lankford, who seems to make matchday squads here and there mostly due to other 2 being injured with 1 out until next year and the other unknown comeback.

Played 10 min as a sub (15 if you add injury time) in a 2-2 draw, Pauli goals were scored before he came on.

got playing time due to Conteh being injured (along with 2 other younger wingers). He needs to take any chance he gets.

current reports is that Lankford is one of 7 players who are candidates for either permanent out or going on loan. Would guess if he leaves it's more likely on loan.

Played 15 min today as a sub in a 3-1 win vs bottom club Wehen.

picked up an "assist" for the counter 3-1 goal.

it's likely to be counted as an assist since assist just means last passer to scorer even if it's the scorer who does everything.

if a lot of my Lankford posting is - is because the truth that he's not 2BL quality (talking about up to this point in time, who knows about future).

But now coach Jos Luhukay (56) revealed: “It could be that we add an offensive player. With Mats Möller Daehli we lost a powerful player. And with Christian Conteh (tendon tear, editor) a player who is injured and does not return in a short time. "

The problem: The training camp showed that St. Pauli is too thin on the left and right wings.

Ryo Miyaichi (27) and Viktor Gyökeres (21) have their place safely. Neither Luis Coordes (21) nor Kevin Lankford (21) can be dangerous to them. And this is exactly where the danger lurks - should the Japanese or Swede fail, a lot of attack quality is missing.

The potential new person should help to achieve the goal. "We want to continue on the way up and not have to look at a relegation zone," says Luhukay.

that's not an endorsement for Lankford and the 2 young wingers that the coach rates Conteh and Loubongo have had injury issues throughout season while Loubongo is still U19 eligible too.

It's important to note that Lankford arrived at the club before the current coach. Different coaches rate plenty of players differently.

Lankford picked up an assist in that 3-0 win. Takes his tally to
2 goals and 2 assists in 3 RL games, productive in all 3 games.

keeps showing what I've always thought about him, performs in RL but very ineffective in 2BL. Still makes me wonder if he gets 3rd Liga loan in Summer.

also the number of younger Winger competitors went from 3 players to 4 due to Winter transfers. 4/4 younger than him, the 4th player initially joined II but after impressing a lot, he recently already joined 1st team training and impressed Jos and everyone else.
