Ego. Plus power and control. The anthropologists call it Primate Dominance: not having much interest in the well-being of the entity under your control, or any ability to solve its problems, but a great deal of interest in remaining the Apha Male in the troop, you do stupid, dickish things to f&*k people over to remind them and (especially) everyone else who's boss. Think Cheeto Jesus, only without access to the Football.
I've never seen it reported and there's some legal work going on behind the scenes. The family asks for our forbearance and appreciates the support for Keaton.
It just got real. Varzim: Keaton will revoke for Just Cause. The paper O Jogo reports in today's edition that Keaton Parks will present a request to terminate his contract for Just Cause. The American player has not been an option for the club since a public disagreement between his manager and Varzim concerning a possible transfer to Portimonense occurred. The paper reports that Keaton was absent from the last two training sessions, but it is unknown what reasons the player will give for this. https://radioondaviva.pt/index.php/noticias/11067-varzim-keaton-vai-rescindir-por-justa-causa
Knowing nothing of this legal system what are his chances? Or is this a matter for FIFA or the Court of sport (or whatever that is named).
Any idea what "statements" there are to be heard in the audio clip? Sounds like talk of Keaton starts at 4:00. This one as well from this morning: http://www.radioondaviva.pt/index.php/noticias/11079-varzim-reage-a-ausencia-de-keaton-parks Varzim reacts to the absence of Keaton Parks Varzim told the League Club that Keaton Parks has stopped attending training despite the 19-year-old American having a contract with the club until the end of next season. This is what the newspaper A Bola says. According to the Record newspaper, Varzim's president is not willing to give in to the arm-wrestler with the player who will have started when his manager left the yard disagreeing with a possible transfer of the athlete without the representative has been heard. Statements can be heard in the local edition.
Any updates? @Eighteen Alpha His transfermarkt profile says he's joining Portimonese when the July window opens
Well he was, technically, sold to Portimonense so transfermarkt is probably going with that in lieu of more information. As far as I know, Keaton's representation is still trying behind the scenes to get his contract nullified to allow him to leave on a free. Updates have been really hard to come by. @KafSport - if you are still around - have you heard any news on our boy?
Hey guys, have been off the grid on Big Soccer. Been busy with some stuff. It's still a mess as reported. They are trying legal action to get out of the contract as you've guys have been posting about. Keaton has been doing some work on his own soccer wise but I haven't heard of anything major happening at all recently. I just think it's crazy that we're witnessing this. He went from one of the fastest rising youngsters in the American soccer landscape to rotting on the reserves. It'll be interesting to see if he gets out of his contract where he goes and how good he will be after not playing in a competitive game for quite a while. Just horrible what has happened to him.
I'm pretty sure he's under contract for another year. It was just signed earlier this year. Wouldn't think they'd need legal action if it expired in the summer.
Yes. If he succeeded in having his contract cancelled in the morning he still wouldn't be able to actually play for another club until the transfer window opens. He could probably sign some kind of contract and train with the team/reserves/youth team of another club but he wouldn't be able to play any kind of competitive game and might not be able to play friendlies either.
Congrats to Keaton on his first US U20 callup. http://www.ussoccer.com/stories/201...layers-to-england-for-world-cup-training-camp DEFENDERS (8): Hugo Arellano (LA Galaxy; Norwalk, Calif.), Danny Barbir (West Bromwich Albion F.C.; Allentown, Pa.), Marcello Borges (University of Michigan; Kearny, N.J.), Aaron Herrera (University of New Mexico; Casa Grande, Ariz.), John Nelson (Internationals SC; Medina, OH), Keaton Parks (Plano, Texas; Unattached), Miles Robinson (Atlanta United FC; Arlington, Mass.), Brandon Terwege (FC Dallas; Highland Village, Texas)
From what I have heard they are still going through the legal process and are not done with the situation. Also interesting how he is called up as a defender and not a CM
“I’m a little nervous, but I’ve been playing this game my whole life and I know I’m good enough,” Parks said via text. “I'm psyched to get to show off my abilities and wear the crest for the first time.” http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/soccer/soccer/2017/04/02/parks-gets-u-20-call
I thought Keaton Parks was still under contract but in the dog house. Sounds like he got off his crappy contract?
