Gotta be honest, I had a blast. No expectations makes for a really chill night in some lovely weather with some cool people. And LA scored some good looking goals. Season is done, but who cares? I've sat on the edge of my seat every October/November for the last 8 years, damn near giving myself a heart attack at every little half-chance. Kind of looking forward to just enjoying the games and not taking everything so seriously the rest of the season.
This is true, I was in the same boat. The only reason I was ever all that upset was when Salloi missed his penalty. His confidence is absolutely shattered and I'd like to see him, regardless of success this season, find his footing again sooner or later. I just think this match is a pretty clear example of what it looks like when our side goes up against a truly exceptional team in the league. It wasn't losing that is making us discuss all the roster, nor was it the margin of loss, I don't think. It was the casual way that LA had no problems swatting us aside, offensively and defensively. If they ever removed the salary wage structure, this is the kind of game we could expect to always see against the standard cohort of the half a dozen potential champions.
I envy this, It may be a crap season, but it's a crap SKC season, and that is always worthwhile. Carefree...
