A week and a half after we played United on the road we... play... United on the road. :scratcheshead: MLS is weird, man.
Yes, hoping for a better result than my trip to Minneapolis last year. At least this is final time on the crappy turf at UM football stadium.
They are not talking about Russell missing this weekends game, it's the June 3 home game against MNUFC that he would be gone for.
Nice bonus on my flight this evening to Minneapolis. I was on the same plane with the team. Got to sit by Gerso and behind Johnny and Daniel. Everyone was very nice.
Since there is a Royals game at the same time, we are relegated to FSKC+. Anyone know if there are plans to get that channel into HD any time soon? It’s such a downer to watch the games all fuzzy.
This had me wondering if, with 162 games, the Royals could still be that much more popular than SKC on television, esp coming off my first week in town in a while during which I was really impressed by the SKC footprint. So, I decided to look into it and HFS the Royals are kind of the Gods of KC tv. I admit, I left before they got good again, so I was almost certain to underestimate their pulling power, but as the sports business journal reported: " the Royals also netted more total minutes of viewing than the top 20 prime-time shows in the Kansas City market combined, according to the Sports Business Journal. That includes shows, such as Big Bang Theory, NCIS, Walking Dead and America's Got Talent." So wow. That's really impressive. I know their games are constant and last like 12 hours each, but still, the Royals won't be dethroned anytime soon.
Two thoughts on Minn U: 1. I envy Quintero. He would have been a really nice addition for us. 2. That is the ugliest fake field in MLS, IMO. I don't know why, it just looks really oddly unnatural, troublingly so.
Hallelujah, we get to listen to Callum again instead of Bukaty. What a breath of fresh air. Also, kudos to MNU for having a female color commentator.
SKC defense looking asleep today. Ibarra is tearing up his right sideline, Medranda nowhere to be found on a couple crosses in.
Medranda looks like he’s forgotten he’s playing left back today. Keeps working his way to central mid but no one’s covering for him in the back.
Ilie’s passing is way off today. More missed passes that I can remember him having in a long time. I’m guessing the turf is messing with his touch.
Watching Minnesota get called for offside repeatedly, has anyone noticed that we almost never get offside now that Dwyer is gone?
Shelton off the schneid. Melia looking pedestrian. SKC passing not great. Marufo is "letting them play".
Think it in part has to do with the speed of the game, it’s been pretty frentic so far, and that’s not how Ilie plays.
