Houston has a midweek game at Dallas tomorrow. No notable injuries (outside of one season ending injury a piece) or suspensions for either team so far. Houston are currently sitting three points behind us in the standings and are undefeated at home this season. We do, however, have experience taking down long Houston home unbeaten streaks.
This is a tough match. For neutrals I can see it being quite entertaining. I watch Houston most weeks, and I come away from every match with the same thought: "I really wish we'd found Elis first." I don't really get the panther or jaguar crawl and swipe thing, seems kind of lame after the first time, when it was kind of funny. But he is a player. I'd think this is of the weeks when Seth gets the start, though on broadcasts they talk about how Medranda is considered our best one on one defender.
Looks like lots and lots of rain for Houston. Does anyone know if the pitch there was designed with all the fancy sand and drainage systems to deal with such events?
I can't imagine the team flying into Houston when the storm is scheduled to hit the coast and then play a game in the complete deluge of rain and flooding to follow. It has to be canceled. http://www.houstonpress.com/news/ho...als-prepare-for-tropical-storm-harvey-9732034
Sounds like it is off: http://houston.cbslocal.com/2017/08...me-cancelled-because-of-hurricane-harvey/amp/
disappointing considering they just spent a lot of energy in coming back in their draw with dallas yesterday. we'd have been fresh.
I just saw up to 57 inches of rain is forecast? I mean, there are rainy nights in Stoke, and then there's this
First - holy moly. Epic doesn't begin to describe what is happening to Houston. Prayers for everyone there. The humanitarian concerns there will put soccer squarely in the place of priority where it belongs - which is way down the list. As I've scanned pictures of the flooding, I've not been able to get a read on how BBVA is holding up. If it's underwater, I wonder how the pitch will hold up... Has anyone else seen any indication about the facility's condition?
The Houston television station KLOU ( think, may be wrong and I closed the site) has BVA has being in an area of "minimal flood damage". The map of course isn't about BVA, but the entire city, but tht includes BVA. That said, I have no idea what 50 inches of rain will do to a field. And it's supposed to get worse through tomorrow night, at least. It's just horrible watching this happen, but it's gotta be a million times worse living through it.
