  7. Young AZ is hot on the conveyor belt of talents. Numerous players already went the last few seasons to the first team or ended up with other Eredivisie teams like Feyenoord etc.

Anyone have a clue what are his chances to move up to the 1st team next season?

  13. AZ has two outstanding wingers, Jahanbakhsh is an Iranian international scoring goals with ease and Calvin Stengs, a hot talent that broke into the first team and trashed the opponents. Unfortunately within a few matches he had a serious knee injury, for which he was treated in the States. He's on his way back and when he picks up where he left with the knee injury, he's for sure a first team player.
I already posted some time ago there is a plus and a minus on Kai's joining AZ. The plus is that he gets the best academy treatment in the Dutch league at the moment, the minus is that the AZ youth and the academy are conveyor belting talents towards the first team, so he's in a pack chasing few places.
But who knows Jahanbakhsh plays a tremendous WC2018 and is sold abroad.

  14. Donot forget either AZ Alkmaar at the moment is at place 3 in the league, with a 9 points lead to fc Utrecht and only 5 points behind Ajax. So it signals it will not be easy to take a spot in the team.

Does this kid have any shot at first-minutes this year?

  24. On the left wing the player to beat is Ossama Idrissi, 21 years old and part of the Orange U21 team. Oussama also plays right wing.
On the right wing they have Dorin Rotariu, 23 years, Romanian national team player. Dorin also can play left wing and striker.
With Bjorn Johnsen added to the AZ team, a role as striker is out of the question.
So it's unlikely he will be a first team regular, but the only player on the bench in the EL match at home that was an attacker was the 17 year old Myron Boadu, Orange U17 player, who's a striker, but can play on the wings if necesary. So my guess is that he will see the first team bench often and make minutes from there.
