Compared to Benatia, Juve have played better when Rugani has started.

    Juve with Benatia,
    3-2 L @ Lazio
    3-0 L @ Barca
    2-2 T @ Atalanta

These are clearly not easy games, however it's getting pretty clear that it's unlikely that Benatia will ever recover his Roma form from a few years ago.

I don't think I ever said Benatia was better than Rugani.

Not to mention Thuram, who should be counted among our very best defenders.

Did Thuram play CB or Full Back when he was at Juve by the way?

Both. If I recall correctly, he initially played fullback and then partnered in the middle with a combination of Ferrara, Montero and Cannavaro.

Thuram was primarily a CB who sometimes played as a RB for Juve.

I personally liked Didier Deschamps when he played at Juve. He had strength , always ran was highly intelligent in tactics and was a very good defensive mid. He also had great passing to the forwards. He wasn't really offensive but he was the type of player you needed and who every teams needs. Even though the game has changed a bit, I have not seen too many midfielders like him in years.

I still think that mid-90s Deschamps side with the three-prong attack featuring ADP/Baggio, Ravanelli and Vialli played the best football I've ever seen us play. It was such a great sight to see Torricelli stampeding down the right side. What a team!

2004-06 side seemed to be pretty talented aswell. Was it Capello who held them back in the CL?

Capello had his usual 14-15 burned out. He put a lot into winning Serie A that left little in advancing in the CL. Very similar to Conte.

It was so frustrating to see a side that talented get bounced by lesser teams in CL.

Not to mention starting Ibrahimovic, giving him chance after chance, and then Alex would have to come off the bench and bail us out.

Ugh, Capello was frustrating as hell. Obviously, I wasn’t happy about the circumstances in which he left the club, but I won’t pretend that I was sad to see him go.

That team wasn't missing much to be CL winner. Too bad it ended the way it did.

Great. Now im sad again. We have gone thru a lot and then 2006 summer hit. WC win made us a little happy but was it right before the final they announced we'd be kicked down to Serie B? Assholes couldnt even wait til it was over ha

Motherf*ckers originally ruled that we should be demoted to Serie C2, and upon “reassessment” it was revised to Serie B. Meanwhile, Marcelo Lippi and the core of our squad was defeating Germany in the WC semi-final. Literally, that happened on the same day they ruled that basically Juve should cease to exist.

Despite the fact that the arbitrating judge ruled that none of the Triade actually violated any sporting by-law that mandated relegation, the Lega then retroactively changed the rules so in order to see us go down. That is what I will never forgive, and I’ll never be “over” it. Ever.

When you put it out passionately this way, they definitely should have hired you over @Falc
That guy just sat idle with "who is the FIGC" tweets the whole time.

I've always said that had calciopoli not happened, there was every reason to believe that the 2005-06 team would be crowned European champions one or two years later. That Juve had class, quality, experience, and personality from top to bottom.
