Ox scores for England. the lad's on fire these days. great to see. bbc: It is an excellent finish too as he takes a touch to control Ben Chilwell's excellent ball before firing a low drive into the far corner.
England fans boo Gomez ffs. bunch of tw@ts. at least Sterling took his head out of his ass long enough to criticize them. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...-booing-Joe-Gomez-Wembley-incident-Montenegro
Pretty pathetic England...but good for Sterling to stand up...and good for Gomez to walk on... I just wish Southgate would quit saying "we are all united"...
Yeah, Southgate with that stupid move caused all this rubbish. This would have all passed unnoticed instead it gave the boo boys a target.
It seems like the hatred for Liverpool goes beyond just Manchester. There is an interesting theory why that is. Fans and management of other clubs were happy to write off this period in football history, and were comfortable with the idea that City were just too good and too rich to be competed with. Liverpool’s brilliance has ruined that. Instead of sitting back and waiting for Guardiola to move on from City, Klopp has built a team that can compete with Guardiola’s team. This makes the other clubs uncomfortable because they can no longer blame their incompetence on oil money. Liverpool are the best team in the world right now because they are smarter than everyone else and have the best manager. This is why it seems like the rest of the country are openly rooting for City to win league.
Jealousy is an ugly thing. Those southern twats would support oil rich Arabs who thought by buying the top players in the league that they'd have a team. I like the way Sterling spoke out but that won't phase these low life fools. The championship. Well we're barely one third into the season as of now and we've played some close games. Even though we've played most of the top six and won there's still a long hard way to go.
I still don't understand the booing and am left even more confused by [mainly] Man City fans claiming it's a backlash from the abuse Sterling gets from the Liverpool fans at Anfield-- I mean are they that thick?
Do they not see the double standard when Milner gets booed by Citeh fans? Except that it's not even equal, because Milner helped them win titles and just ran out his contract. He didn't snake a move and go on BBC saying he wanted out in the middle of a top 4 race.
I've said it before but it's a strange thing for me (as an American of English decent) to support Liverpool and England. I've supported England longer than Liverpool (via my Iranian father, ironically) because I was able to watch them before I ever saw Liverpool on TV. But now that I know the history and the animosity, I can understand why so many don't support England in Liverpool. I never got to talk to my grandparents about it before they passed but the general attitude (especially from the older bunch) of non-Scousers in England is that Liverpool is a dirty/dangerous city, which couldn't be further from the truth (at least now). England hosted Uruguay in front of 40,000 at Anfield in 2006. Were those all out-of-towners?
As a scouser I always faced abuse and sneering from “southerners” - I wouldn’t say it’s hatred more like lazy stereotypes They often pass it off as banter but too often there is a hidden agenda
Both Gomez and Henderson are returning early to Liverpool. Gomez jarred his knee apparently and Henderson hasn't recovered from a viral infection.
I've never let those souveners get to me. I've always felt superior and let them know it. I just tell them that if they're born south of the line between the Seven and the Wash. Then they have to be French. When Maggie tried to destroy Liverpool we should have broken off with a Unilateral Declaration of Independence. Blocking the Man ship canal and the East Lancs road.
https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...il-van-Dijk-Mohamed-Salah-injury-Jurgen-Klopp updates on Mane. Virgil and Robbo.
Virgil stepping away from the Dutch team's next game for "personal reasons". hope all is OK family-wise. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/50453770
