With the U/20 WC not far away in Colombia, would it be wise to do some high altitude training ala what some AFL clubs do to improve fitness? Just a stab in the dark. It may help them adapt a bit earlier. Can the FFA afford it, hopefully they've thought of it?

I'd imagine they'd assemble there at least a fortnight in advance to aclimatise? They'd be mad not to. That said, depends on where they're playing their group matches. 2 of the host cities are at sea level, there's 4 host cities between 1000-2000m elevation & then 2 over 2000. Bogota is the highest city at about 2600 metres. They'd really only be the 2 venues that might cause problems. Lucky it's not in Bolivia! ;)

Sorry to be random, but I had a look at wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_U-20_World_Cup

We've made the semi's of this tourny twice, back when the golden generation were coming through. Looking at all of the Golden Boots, some have come through- others- not so much.

Our own leading goal scorer in the 1991 tourny was David Seal.
