I was reading through the stack of Sports Illustrated mags I hadn't touched and noticed this nugget:

In many respects, Klinsmann is now as American as he is German. He and his wife, Debbie, a native of Orange County, have lived in the U.S. for 20 years and don’t intend to leave. Long a green card holder, Jurgen finally got his citizenship after Donald Trump was elected president because, well, wouldn’t you?

    https://www.si.com/soccer/2018/05/16/jurgen-klinsmann-us-soccer-world-cup-usmnt

I'm surprised it wasn't reported here, but now he is one of us, so he gets his own YAA thread for all the rumors of his future coaching assignments.

    Recent rumors include:

    Japan: https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...en-klinsmann-japan-coach-world-cup/757180002/

    Vfb Stuttgart: https://www.sport1.de/fussball/bund...ber-abstieg-juergen-klinsmann-und-mario-gomez

Says he will only take a top job (and his daughter goes to college next fall): https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/ill...insmann-reveals-he/12riqhesaekcn1ab09f3c7yd74

A confirmation that he won't coach Ecuador?

On Monday, through his Twitter account, the journalist Elmer Polanco of El Salvador said that an agreement was not reached with Jürgen Klinsmann to direct the selection of Ecuador.

based on current German reports seems like he's headed to be a board member in the Hertha Berlin club, so looks like no coaching for him.

It looks like he's just on the board. He doesn't have a direct management role. But he will have voting power to hire/fire executives, and the power to approve/disapprove of major transactions/strategic choices. At least that's how it typically works.

Lolz.... You and your "ideas and rules". :)

No no, This is JK AND HERTHA!
Think, the crystal meth muppets meet george orwell.

JK always tries to go through the backdoor for a job (usmnt, toronto, dfb) and probably anything else...

A new "investor" (they come every 2-3 years) stipulated jk be on the board.

100€ million to be burned in the most spectacar fashion!

Btw factual correction. Its the same investor who already "invested" (teheehe) 100€ million. For the new 100€ million he required jk on the board so that he could "own" 49.9% of hertha.

    EPIC!

It is just a temporary. It allows the board time to find the right coach. Beside he preferred national team job for long term.

If it's just temporary, I'd better hurry. A couple of early efforts ...

    Jurgen Knows.

1-0 win at Leverkusen and Hertha is up to 13th, 6 points clear of the relegation playoff after consecutive wins.

I like the second one but would suggest to simplify it to just:
