D’oh! Forgot about a simple Google search. Yes, a deluded YerNited fan. Still doesn’t fully explain the lunacy, however.
Carra has been in the media saying that AA is v similar to KDB. AA grew up as a midfielder, so ..... how about putting AA at RM, with JoGo at RB? would work for me, strengthens both midfield and defence. I doubt Ox and Keita would vote for it, mind you.
No need to change anything. Trent is taking up the same positions and playing the same types of balls as DeBruyne from his current role. The fullbacks in Liverpool’s system play the creative role that the midfielders do in City’s.
not saying it's a necessity, but it would change things up without sacrificing anything, while giving one of the MF trio a well-deserved rest. we'll see I guess.
We would sacrifice what Trent gives us at right back as an attacking force. Right now we have 7 players for 3 spots in center midfield. We don’t need Trent there in my opinion. It is an interesting debate though. Steven Gerrard could have also been the best right back in the world if he was never moved to midfield. But fullback is a much different position now than it was back then. I think you can be a world superstar from playing fullback in today’s game.
I case you hadn’t heard, Klopp has become infected by a disease of arrogance, according to Simon Jordan, formerly of Crystal Palace. https://talksport.com/football/612099/liverpool-jurgen-klopp-arrogance-simon-jordan/
I like it. I wonder how it would mess with the overall tactical approach re: spacing on the pitch... if Gomez is kind of just hanging out, you have a more defensive back line, but does that clog things up for guys like Salah and Firmino by having TAA pinching in and taking up that space. I do think that might be the best overall use of Trent's talents, though... and it would help for him to not have huge open spaces behind him, because that has been an issue. But, currently, if it ain't broke...
Doesn't the author have the same last name as the twat that tried to break Mo's leg on Saturday? Hmm...
here's the guardians' view on moving AA to midfield ... https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...der-arnold-midfield-liverpool-kevin-de-bruyne In 2015 the Monaco manager, Leonardo Jardim, decided to relocate his right-back to central midfield. Fabinho performed so well in his new role that less than two years later, with Monaco on course for the French title and the semi‑finals of the Champions League, Jardim trumpeted him as the best midfielder in the world. But Brazil’s manager, Tite, continued to think of Fabinho primarily as a full-back – an inferior one to Dani Alves – leading Jardim to declare: “I will never put a player of his level at right-back.” Since joining Liverpool Fabinho has confirmed that he is indeed a superb midfielder. And it is interesting to refer to his case when considering the future of his clubmate Trent Alexander-Arnold, another right-back whose qualities suggest he could thrive midfield
Glen Johnson says NO! https://live4liverpool.com/2019/10/lfc-news/johnson-gushes-over-alexander-arnold/
I'm with Glen - leave TAA at RB. The few games he's played at CM have produced nothing memorable. And I seem to remember thinking that his passing left quite a bit to be desired from the center.
You should've seen the number of people talking about how excited they were to watch him lose another final this past June...
Yeah, but they were the same people who heralded the arrival of The Chosen One, the Messiah Moaningho and more recently Bus Driver Ole.
