Salah, Firmino and Mane could link up against Belgrade after only the Egyptian started Liverpool’s victory away at Huddersfield Town at the weekend. With nine games played in the Premier League so far, Jurgen Klopp’s side have actually scored more goals in the top-flight than they had done at the same stage last season, registering 14 goals last year in comparison to this year’s total of 16. Meanwhile, the trio have produced the exact same number of goals in the league between them with a combined total of 10 in both campaigns. https://www.dailypost.co.uk/sport/f...liverpool-fcs-front-three-struggling-15320794

In the league... 16 games played. 13 wins (42 pts) 34 goals scored. 6 goals conceded. SIX Let's break down those 6 goals... *A rare Allison blunder of overconfidence. *A great finish by that little, whiny bitch Lamela at the death. *A fantastic run and finish by Hazard, *A garbage goal off a deflection vs Cardiff. *A great finish by Lacazette. *A garbage goal off a scramble that was kicked out of Allison's hands and probably offside. That's it. Could easily be just 3 goals conceded.

Interesting article from the spring resurfaced on my timeline regarding Coutinho and why Klopp didn't use him as a midfielder. Fair to say Klopp knows what he is doing. 1071828470601273345 is not a valid tweet id https://elpais.com/deportes/2018/04/22/actualidad/1524420154_423331.html

Jürgen Klopp as tv game show participant in 1995 (at 2:44) (3:55, We're gonna start with Jürgen. Jürgen, what you do for a living? Im a football pro. Which club do you play for? 1. FSV Mainz 05. Ah, so ZDFs(the broadcaster's) cafeteria team. And which position do you play? Striker. And we do want to get promoted to Bundesliga. Just like you want to host some Saturday night tv show(instead of this).
The team against Bournemouth was made up almost entirely of Klopp signings. Allison, Van Dijk, Matip, and Robertson are all Klopp signings. Wijnaldum, Keita, and Fabinho are Klopp signings. Mane and Salah are Klopp signings. The only players who were not signed by Klopp are Milner and Firmino. Trent came on, and although he was not signed by Klopp, Jurgen deserves a lot of the credit for introducing him into the first team. Many have been calling for the Fabinho-Keita-Wijnaldum midfield all season, but it took a long time to finally see it. There are certain players that have been known as Klopp favorites and that Jurgen rates more highly then many of the fans. I find it interesting that all of these players are players that Klopp did not sign. Lallana, Milner, Henderson, and Lovren are players that Klopp has always picked and always praised even when others were criticizing them. Firmino is the player that Klopp praises in the media more than any other. None of these are players that he has signed. I think that we have found our best eleven against Bournemouth (minus Gomez and Trent), and its not surprising that it was made up almost entirely of players signed by Klopp.
That's probably the best 11 against a team like Bournemouth, without tons of talent but tends to not sit back and park the bus. But Hendo instead of Fabinho would have been fine, Lovren instead of Matip would have been fine, against THAT team. They are in some ways set up to get bullied by this current version of LFC. Should have been at least 4, maybe even 5.

Jurgen Klopp won't have flopped if he falls short of Manchester City. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...wont-flopped-falls-short-Manchester-City.html
I did not know this ...... Liverpool score just more than 0.51 set-pieces per game - which in other words equates to a set-piece goal every other match, a metric better than any other team in any of Europe's top five leagues. City - although winning a lot of set-pieces - do not score anywhere near as often as they should at only 0.28 times per game. here's a graphic for the stat nerds ...
