Scored a goal or got an assist, I think. Is he the captain?

Google Translate: Following the submission of @ J_Green37 our captain pokes the leather to 2: 1 over the line. #WeiterImmerWeiter #FCBAmateure

Interestingly, Benko and Gaudino are also playing. I think Green just needs to keep playing and producing. Sounds simple, in reality is complex, but he's shown what he can do when he's in form at this level.

I don't remember all my German lessons, but I'm pretty sure that Schweinfurt means pig-fart.

In my childhood days I firmly believed Wa"shington" must be a place where people would go and wasch their ham.

Uh, not quite. "Furz" is fart, a "Furt" is a shallow area of a river (a ford I think you call it in English?), prime locations for the development of cities.

I assume that at Schweinfurt the river was low enough for a pig to pass through it...

Swineford would actually be pretty straight translation.

It did kind of fall into the Schweinsteiger=pigmounter category.

Good for confidence at least. He needs to be scoring more if he's at this level.

Too soon to close the book on Julian. He's only 20, yes a bit disappointing that he didn't take a loan to play at a higher level this season; however, I still believe that he can become a regular NT starter out on the wing.

Yep to all of the above. He's extremely unlikely to make it at Bayern, and no shame in that - plenty of players don't make it at these super-club academies but still go on to play at high levels and in WCs, Euros, etc.

The cynical among us (there are a few on these boards, or so I'm told:p) would suggest that he's stepping up a gear with the transfer window opening in 6 weeks, but that would never happen, would it?? ;)

Would be nice to see him get 1st team minutes with a decent club. He's still 20 years old so I haven't lost faith, wasn't his fault he was called into the full NT before he was remotely ready....somehow managed to score a lucky goal anyway.

Green's a very good prospect for us, even if he doesn't make it at Bayern right now. That doesn't mean he won't be playing for Bayern or a top club in 5-10. Sometimes players don't get a proper shot right out of the academy, and then go on to prove they are good enough once they get consistent first team playing time at a slightly lower level.
