Showed a lot of promise when he was young. Ended up being a good player but not to the extent hoped for.

He can at least always lay claim to having the coolest hair of any CMNT player ever.

for me his most memorable performance was Gold Cup 2007, where he scored both goals and Canada beat Costa Rica 2-1. He was also declared best player of the tournament. The team ended it's run in the semi-finals before being eliminated by the US in what I recall to be a game with questionable actions by the ref, where Canada scored a goal ruled wrongly offside.

Also led a career where he played 3 seasons in the German Bundesliga and 4 seasons in La Liga.

he also retires as Canada's all time's cap record holder with 89 games, spanning 14 years.
