Went 65 minutes as Puebla fell 2-1 at home to Veracruz last night. Torres picked up a yellow card in the 26th minute.

started in match away to Necaxa - was shown red in the 34th minute - IMHO it was a harsh decision - here are the highlights from the match

Nothing good comes of going over the football in a challenge like that. Refs need to red that challenge more than they do.

    This thread sure died.

JFT ruptured a knee ligament while on loan at Puebla in last season's Apertura, after making 11 league appearances (9 starts).

His Tigres contract expired this summer, and he is on trial at DC United.

The tweet is wrong in describing him as an attacker, but that's obviously Torres in the picture.

Wow, that doesn't seem right but must be correct. I always thought he was quality if not a bit slow of foot. And as a die hard DC United fan, I'd like to think he can still help us although what we really need is a goal scorer (unless JFT can help Acosta in midfield and allow Rooney to stay up top and not have to come so deep to get the ball).

DCU has signed the other guy who was trialing at the same time as Torres, but has not, to my knowledge, said anything about Torres. Does this mean that Torres is history at DCU, or is his trial continuing?

They play different positions and Torres’ contract would be a Lot higher, so I don’t see them as competing for a spot.

Señor Wayne and El Gringo; I want that.

I didn't think they were competing. I just thought DCU might announce both signings at the same time, if there were two to announce.

I hope they do sign him. Torres is too young to become just a memory.

Through several sources on the internet, I've seen records of him playing this fall for Atletico Mitre in the second division in Argentina (the Primera Nacional). But another source that I rely on has a different Jose Torres playing for Atletico Mitre. So is this him or not? Does anybody know?

It appears that Jose's career ended last summer with barely a peep. Which is a shame. He was once lauded as our next great midfield hope, and was a step in the right direction in 2009/2010. Unfortunately didn't have a great World Cup. But nevertheless a quality player with the ball at his feet. Maybe he can get a coaching or scouting position in MLS.

He had a daughter with one girl and she was indeed a smoke show and then all the sudden he had a different girl and they had kids it was weird and sudden and I swear his whole style of play changed.

Bump. JFT has signed with USL Championship’s Colorado Springs Switchbacks. Time flies.... I cannot believe he just turned 33. Great signing for the club who are track to open a pretty sweet little 9K seat stadium in downtown Colorado Springs next year.

MLS has come pretty far ....a former USMNTer with World Cup experience couldn't latch on in the league....meanwhile, a 20 year old US right back from FC Dallas is being rumored to Juventus for 6-7 million.
