My two cents: if I was a writer who had written something noteworthy, I'd want people to know that it was my work 1) to get proper credit and 2) so that a reader could perhaps look into other things I've written if they liked the original piece he or she read. That's how you develop a reputation and a following.

This time I'm not even defending Ashur as I find what he does funny to. I just can't understand why you guys are making a big deal of this.


I do similar shit all the time. I post articles and the like without links and I've never once been bitched at.

 

You post before at least. You don't just post nothing but a 100% copy with zero context.

 

Many forums are pretty strict about this because it's a liability for them. It's clear copyright infringement so if it happened often enough someone might decide to go after them. Also, it's a shitty thing to do.

 

It really is. What's so surprising about this is that the remedy is so simple, painless and sensible.

 

Probably never for something that could get the site taken down or sued.

As for why he is getting shit? Because someone pointed out something in a calm and restrained manner and as usual he acted like a child. It gets old.

 

thanks nimma. it wasnt my intent. i noticed a couple of posts without a source and given he posts links all the time it just flashed across my mind that he might have written them. i was just wanting to know the source of what i am reading.

as an aside, i dont care about TOS (though some do), but the source is important for me personally because different sources carry different weight.

anyway no drama intended. sorry i brought it up.
