He really needs a season-long loan back to MLS ahead of qualifiers and Gold Cup. FCD would be a good destination, or Atlanta where they are doing exciting things and he's proven he's better than Garza. Then he can depart permanently if Chepo is still around. He's not being respected properly by him and the club at this juncture.

Minnesota could really use a leftback...

I think that would be soul-crushing to go from MLS champion to LigaMX standout and playoff participant to ragtag Minnesota United. I'm looking at situations where he could contend again or be part of an exciting nucleus in coming back to MLS for a year. FCD fits the bill, and Maynor Figueroa is their projected starting LB. If he can't start over a nearly 34 year old Honduran, then how could we justify starting him against Honduras?

Hmm, maybe this is related to his contract?

Maybe Santos wanted him to take a paycut? He did not, and is just waiting his contract out perhaps?

I dunno, it just seems odd for a solid Liga MX left back to have no interest when loans between Liga MX clubs happen all the times.

    Just specualtion btw.

because it depends on the judgement of one person. Figueroa is also a pretty accomplished player.

What happened here? Did Villafana play badly? Did they get a new left back?

kinda, Chepo de la Torre promoted a couple of kids from Santos' academy, Villafana lost his position to a 18 yo called Gerardo Arteaga. I don't really watch many Santos games but the kid seems to be solid.

Did a really nice job dealing with Aviles Hurtado, Xolos' do-everything Colombian. Played 90, looked good. Not at fault on the goal.

The thing I really like about Sueño is he gets really stuck in. Always right up on his guy.

Well, this is perfect timing for one of our outside backs at least.
