I'm speculating all the way. I've met Californians and spent time in California. I've met Germans and spent time in Germany. Jonathan grew up in California. Especially in LA there's a culture of not wanting to appear like you are working hard (while still achieving a lot and secretly working very hard behind the scenes). It's not like a work hard play hard mentality. It's a play hard, achieve a ton, and have people be mystified at how you do it. Germans? I can't begin to explain, but it clashes. Very structured, critical, industrial. Let's say you were doing a business meeting in LA. It might have a 2 PM start time. If someone was a half an hour late, it wouldn't be a big deal and the actual structure would be free form and not super well discussed beforehand. In Germany? Everyone would be there at least ten minutes prior and the structure wouldn't need to be discussed but assumed. And don't take this to be critical of either place. I love cultural differences and find them to be refreshing. But again, pure speculation and guesswork on my end.

In der 2. Halbzeit spielen wir mit: Klinsmann; Solimando, Rüfli, Ajeti, Muheim; Fabiano, Quintillà, Ruiz; Kräuchi, Itten, Kutesa.— FC St.Gallen 1879 GRÜEWISS IM HERZ (@FCSG_1879) July 9, 2019 On for the second half of a friendly against Bochum.
A "man-sized plush-made foal" is what my wife says about me all too often... a good still here: http://www.thebesteleven.com/2008/09/german-soccer-mascots.html another "incident" here. http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/bund...dex-no-4-junter-borussia-monchengladbach.html and... And Klinsmann Jr fails and is declared the #2/bench GK. https://www.tagblatt.ch/sport/fcstg...ibt-stammtorhueter-des-fc-stgallen-ld.1136721 1st game of the season is tomorrow.
He only just moved there a few weeks ago. They wouldn't just hand him the no.1 spot asap. If Klinsmann has only played 2 games by January, then Yeah he should worry.
They lost 0-2 and as expected JK didn't play. First goal was a PK, second in the dying minutes when St. Gallen was throwing everything and the kitchen sink to tie it. They play a friendly vs. Dortmund on the 30th, we may see Klinsi there. Else, we'll have to wait for their first cup game on August 17th @ Monthey.

Funny he's defending a dick Hungarian coach working in Germany, who's coached one German-American and feels qualified to dis all American players /
Maybe instead of American he meant Californian. That would make more sense since he was implying too laid back.

But this is the subtext. It's a very German football thing: "Sure he has a great German soccer pedigree and therefore should be very good, but he got infected with American, so it's understandable he's not really all that... It's not his German football stock - or just that's he's not that driven - it's the American influence that ruined it." German footie snobbery is some of the best silly snobbery.
BVB's 4th goal was a thing of beauty and nothing that could be done. From the bit I saw he had a couple decent stops.
It's not great but that last touch makes it a bit tricky if he didn't notice it, it's not equivalent to say, Green's blunder against the US in the World Cup.
