Great game from Jona against Madrid, the guy never gets the credit he deserves, when healthy he's been Mexico's most consistent player in Europe.
He's easily the best midfielder in concacaf right now, surely? What other player puts in those types of performances for a team the caliber of Villarreal?

Played the entire match--and played well--in a 1-0 loss to Las Palmas today. Unfortunately, Villarreal was hampered by a red card that left them a man down from the 20th minute onward.
Villarreal lost at home against Eibar... Jona came off the bench in the 59th minute... I don't think Escribá will finish the season at this point...
It's not an opinion that the level of football is much higher in Europe especially in La Liga where he is now. By any standard or metric, this is true.
Yes, it's higher, but going to MLS does not automatically mean he won't have great form on the int'l stage. Looking at things objectively, as long as he can keep great form while with the NT, who cares where he plays? Personally though, I'd want him only with LAFC because he's my dream DP choice.
I don't necessarily disagree with the bolded but in Jona's case, they have been reluctant to use him even when he's been playing well in Spain. I don't know how playing in MLS will improve that. Most of us would rather see him play in Spain because it's not painful to watch like the MLS sometimes is.
Ojalá y no la cague. He should be concious of how much he worked to get where he is at. He's one of Villarreal's most consistent players. He's still young. I get, he wants to play with his sibling, but going to MMLS is one of the worst decisions he could make... He should only join MMLS when he's in his late 30's... Man, if both dos Santos want to play together, why not joining to Monterrey?. At least Liga MUY X level is not as dreadful as MMLS, and if Gio is pushing Jona for family reasons, why not go to Monterrey since that's where their family live... I'll be pretty disappointed in Jona... SMH... Hope this is all April fools...
Definitely I see where you're coming from, it wouldn't improve the reluctance, although that reluctance shouldn't even be there to begin with, as he has been the best foreign-playing midfielder for a little over a year now. As far as the painfulness to watch some of the MLS matches that even takes a toll on me sometimes, it can be lived with.
