    Fun!

IDENTIFY the Grimsby Town star behind this sinister smile and you could win a pair of tickets to the clash with Cheltenham Town.

    ...

Today's masked star is an American-born striker who has struck fear into National League defenders every time he's been on the pitch, scoring three times so far this season.

Hope I didn't give it away.

Grimsby have been promoted to League Two after beating Forest Green 3-1 in the playoff final. Pittman came on as a sub and played about 10 minutes. Next up is Grimsby's FA Trophy final against FC Halifax next Sunday.

Pittman played in 32 games in all competitions and scored 6 goals. His contract expires this summer.

Ok so who's got any hot leads on a Vanarama National League (had to look that up) side looking for a striker

Didn't he have a few good years in League 2? I'm surprised no conference national team has come calling

He's never scored more than four goals in one season in League Two. He scored three in 08-09 (half season after moving from Crawley in the Conference), four in 10-11, four in 11-12, two in 12-13, and zero in 13-14.

In 09-10, he actually scored seven in League One for Wycombe, which was probably the best season of his career (21 starts, 40 apps at that level). But that season ended six years ago. He scored 10 in the 5th tier two seasons ago and 5 at the same level last year. He mostly came off the bench, albeit for one of the better teams.

Who knows, maybe he just got a better offer from Harrogate than from a 5th tier club, either monetarily or in terms of PT.

I think his best output so far was during his two years with Crawley back in '07-09 I think they were in the Conference National. He scored 22 goals and was signed by Wycombe which kick started his career back into the Football League. He scored 15 goals over a 2 year period for them. He scored 15 goals in 2 years at Grimsby so I think it is safe to say the Conference National/North is his level.

From what I've read on Harrogate fan forums the signing has been positive. Apparently they are in need of strikers. Their top goalscorer from last season Brendon Daniels (22 goals) moved to AFC Fylde who Harrogate lost to in the promotion playoffs. Their next top goalscorer had 8 goals. Pittman may have well found a club where he can get playing time provided he stays injury fee.
