I just did a cursory search of the CAS site and couldn't find the actual decision. Maybe too recent for them to have posted it?
I believe that's the case: The sports tribunal, the outcome of the case not yet made public, but Nieuwsuur has the ruling been handed an inquiry into youth transfers.
Well, damn... further confirmation: 'Ajax kan komst Amerikaan (15) vergeten' http://laatste.today/item/197665_ajax-kan-komst-amerikaan-15-vergeten John Kenneth Hilton (15) may not play in the Ajax youth academy. Earlier, the transfer has already been banned by FIFA and that decision was upheld by the CAS. In honor of this thread's imminent demise:
Wonder what he does now? He does have ties with the Kleibans. Could he come back to the US and play for the Galaxy academy?
He definitely could, I believe. The Kleibans would take him under their wing, and consider them one of their own. I wouldn't mind him coming back to LA and training with them, I wish Lederman would have down that.
Let's not call them the Kleibans when it comes to coaching. Brian is the coach, Gary is an obsessive pro/rel blogger.
Uhh Gary is a coach as well, and runs a training academy for both coaches and players. Both of them have been involved with the Galaxy academy at one point in time.
It's going to be more obvious the Hilton's came for "football affairs" when they leave the Netherlands because their kid couldn't play soccer there.
In case you haven't seen his thread, Little Ben will likely be back at Barça in January. He got a Polish passport.
May not be the end of him in Europe. Remember, Josh Perez and Haji Wright both basically stayed in Europe for multiple years as unattached players until they could sign. Holland has a very good amateur system, which Hilton has every right to play in if he chooses, and which he has been doing up until this point. Both Perez and Wright seemed to have not been harmed by not playing officially with their clubs until recently, so Hilton may still be well off in his situation, especially in a place like the Netherlands. The youth amateur system in Holland is probably a higher level than USSDA, and Ajax still seem to be high on him as a prospect.
You're right... it would depend on if his parents are willing, or able, to keep him there as an amateur. I, for one, hope he goes this route.
How much time did they physically spend there again. Haji signed a pro contract with the Cosmos so he could transfer as a free agent outside of the youth registration window. Pulisic went over in time to dominate at the U17 level and U19 level and is now with the first team.
Though he has been denied at Ajax, apparently he can be with Amsterdam FC until he is eligible for Ajax, according to OWTY/USAprospects. yes I think Ajax want him. AFC seems like a great place until then. Needs high quality football to develop. He's very talented— Joey (@USAprospects) November 1, 2016
Why would this be? Is it something to the effect of AFC playing at a certain level where he does not actually need to register, meaning FIFA doesn't get involved?
Wrong guess, because AFC is a KNVB member and he is registered, otherwise he cannot play. As I said before nobody can prevent a kid from playing in an amateur setting. It is his human right of freedom of gathering.
Was that an intentional reference about how we all are in a forum, and the initial definition of a forum?
The @LAGalaxyAcademy is pleased to announce the signing of John "Xuxuh" Hilton to the Academy. Welcome to the club! pic.twitter.com/oK24efWbeq— LA Galaxy Academy (@LAGalaxyAcademy) November 4, 2016
Good move. He needs training consistentcy as he's been bouncing around for so long at a crucial development age. Odd that the tweet says "signing", though.
