Brooks is the first player I see on Transfermarkt with overlapping injuries: he had a broken toe until Jan. 26, but starting January 9 he had a "knee problem" that continues. https://www.transfermarkt.com/john-anthony-brooks/verletzungen/spieler/124732
Kicker Magazine reports that #USMNT and Wolfsburg central defender John Brooks is still not back to training with the club. https://t.co/7WZmMnFvmr— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) February 27, 2018
How can you get a knee injury a week after breaking your toe, while you're still in the resting stage?
Guess who's back out on the practice pitch?Good to see you making progress, @j_brooks25! 🐺👏🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/Ux2EJNm51M— VfL Wolfsburg US 🇬🇧🇺🇸 #GetENwithUS (@VfLWolfsburg_US) March 26, 2018
seems to be getting closer. #Labbadia: @j_brooks25 and Felix #Uduokhai are both back in training, but neither is an option for tomorrow. Paul #Jaeckel will be in the starting eleven again. #WOBFCA #vflwolfsburg— VfL Wolfsburg EN/US 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 (@VfLWolfsburg_EN) April 12, 2018
#Labbadia: From the players injured or carrying knocks, none are expected to return by Friday. #BMGWOB— VfL Wolfsburg EN/US 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 (@VfLWolfsburg_EN) April 19, 2018 anyone you look at it, for sure it's been a very disappointing 1st season for him.
surprise surprise. #BMGWOB Here is our starting 1️⃣1️⃣ to play @borussia_en 💪 #vflwolfsburg pic.twitter.com/TcQcP0kULG— VfL Wolfsburg EN/US 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 (@VfLWolfsburg_EN) April 20, 2018
He just kind of stands around on Gladbach's goal asking for an offside call. I am not sure he could have stopped the goal (probably not) but his effort wasn't great. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6i59b4
That anger feels pretty reasonable. "Hey John, we're gonna start you today, get you back into it." 30 minutes later: "nah jk get on the bench" I feel like the chance of a Brooks summer transfer just skyrocketed.
this is a horrible Wolfsburg team anyway who aren't going to win this game nor can they score to save their lives. If Didavi wasn't on the team they would be in the relegation zone.
Brooks is remarkably frustrating. The guy has the ability to be an incredible central defender at the highest of levels. His talent is just insane. Sometimes he really does play to that level. But at times he really has too many avoidable mental lapses where it just doesn't seem like he's completely invested in the game he's playing. Just maddening.
Labbadia is a dunce. He's never really won at any level he's coached at except for a rather mediocre spell at Stuttgart.
That's not going to do much for a player's morale. Truth be told, JAB is a bit of a tronco, and he's still rusty. They shouldn't have started him until he was 100%.
