Since Wolfsburg are trying to go from relegation back to Europe Trying to find the pack again:Brooks @Wolfsburg
I'm a big Brooks fan, but he has had a couple stinkers. Overall he is our best CB, and likely the second best player in our pool going forward.
Starts friendly vs. Fiorentina (no Perez). KICK-OFF! We’re underway at the AOK Stadion. Check out the Wolves' line-up below! Let's get the win, boys! 🐺 #WOBACF pic.twitter.com/jREgg4XNEl— VfL Wolfsburg EN/US 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 (@VfLWolfsburg_EN) August 6, 2017
The latest I can find on JAB's injury is that he is being checked out by the German national team Dr. Müller-Wohlfahrt in Munich today-haven't seen a diagnosis yet. The first article says has pretty much been ruled out of the game this weekend. The second is mostly blocked by a Paywall http://www.sportbuzzer.de/artikel/s...lfsburg-erwartet-genaue-diagnose-am-dienstag/ https://www.wolfsburger-nachrichten...er-Weg-zur-Diagnose-fuehrt-nach-Muenchen.html This looks bad, hoping for the best against CRC/Hon
The great thing about Arena is that he knows our pool better than anyone else, so he can find the closest replacement to fit the situation.
No word yet on the severity of the injury but he is definitely out against Dortmund. The writer speculates that the silence means he will be out for awhile. http://www.sportbuzzer.de/artikel/vfl-brooks-fallt-gegen-dortmund-aus/
Out for at least 3 months with a tendon tear in his thigh. Awful news. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...tikel_vfl-schock_brooks-faellt-lange-aus.html
So, according to what I've read he's out with "torn tendons in his thigh." If that (horribly vague and inaccurate) description can be parsed out I'm guessing he has a partially torn quadriceps tendon. This is the same injury Blake Griffin had last season in the NBA that he elected not to have surgery for and that he ended up re-straining in the playoffs. 3 months is highly optimistic, frankly. This is the sort of injury that might require surgery to fully heal and if he doesn't have surgery there is a troubling chance of reinjury even after a long period of rest and rehab like Griffin tried. It's not a good injury. Tendons are trickier to heal than ligaments, and much trickier than simple muscle strains. It would have been much "nicer" for Brooks to simply have a quad muscle strain or perhaps even a torn hamstring, as those injuries have much more predictable and known rehabs. ********.
surgery and aiming for after the winter break is the stronger play in my opinion. Sucks for wolfsburg and JAB
