A NT call up prolly wouldnt be too far after his bundesliga debut but lets not jump the gun. Weve heard good things about him but we dont know when he will get 1st team action could be soon, maybe in the spring? I doubt it will be 2 years though. He has a squad number and when/if he debuts he will get called in.
Brooks is back in action. He played 90 minutes in defense for Hertha II. Apparently, he lined up at LB, alongside Alfredo Morales at CB.
Kicker has Brooks in the center and Morales on the outside. Brooks got a yellow card as Hertha II lost 2-0. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...a_hertha-bsc-ii-1509_hannover-96-ii-3280.html
Hertha II lost to Holstein Kiel 6-0 today. Fortunately, Brooks had no part in this debacle because he didn't play. On the other hand, how could you blame Hertha II for losing to a Marc Heider-led offense? Heider scored a brace for Kiel.
New interview with Brooks BROOKS REFLECTS ON U23 CAMP Brooks talks about Hertha and the most recent US camp
"Good" news for Brooks: Hertha CB Franz suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and won't be back this season, leaving a spot on the bench open. Brooks has to compete with Neumann and Janker. Other news: It looks like coach Babbel won't sign a new contract. Hertha's management might consider to replace him before the end of the season.
http://www.immerhertha.de/2011/12/1...umann-und-brooks-zurzeit-keine-rolle-spielen/ Coach Babbel gets asked why neither Neumann nor Brooks have gotten a chance to start despite Hertha's poor display in central defense. Babbel: "Let me get this clear. They first have to start knowing that this here is about workplaces that they can get hold of. If I want someone from there, they have to get going. And they aren't doing enough. My Motto: When 2 [players] are equally strong, the younger one plays. But they're not doing enough. They have to get off their butts. They have to offer me something in order to play. And they aren't doing that. If one or two disappointments occur, then they can't just hang their heads and back out. They shouldn't regard the U23 as a punishment, rather a chance to prove themselves. But if you then lose 1:4 in Havelse or 0:5 in Halberstadt, then this isn't exactly a recommendation. And when you just disappear and go along - that's not enough. You have to prove yourself [in these situations]. And that's simply not happening.
Brooks played the 2nd half in a first team friendly yesterday for Hertha Berlin in a 3-2 win over Osnabruck http://www.rbb-online.de/nachrichten/sport/2012_01/hertha_absolviert.html Apparently he was a little shaky
Brooks seems to have a very long way to go. Hertha have 5 injured CBs, they're playing with a DM and a LB at CB, Morales is the only defensive player on the bench; and Brooks didn't make the 18. They seem to prefer traffic cones to him right now.
Brooks (and Kiesewetter) have actually been moved down to the U19 team, at least for the last 3 weeks or so.
John Anthony Brooks played the entire second half against SC Berlin. Hertha Berlin won the game 3-0 as they prepare for the start of the new season in the BL2. This is a good sign for Brooks because he was moved down to the U19 team late last season.
Not I don't think so. He 18/19 and as we have seen with bobby wood You can be a big talent with. Schalke rumored to be wanting you and still get only minimal playing time for an upperhalf BL.2 side. It really depends on how the manager handles the situation.
John Anthony Brooks played 90 minutes in 2-1 preseason victory against FC Midtjylland from the Danish Superliga.
