I speak only for myself, but I don't understand why we're having an argument about Gedion in the Joel Sonora thread.

Pretty unfortunate news for Sonora with the signings VfB made this summer as all are able to play out wide where he's been getting all of his playing time thus far.

- Tobias Werner, 31 - Bought from Augsburg for 1m Euros. Listed as LW, RW.

- Takuma Asano, 21 - 1 year loan from Arsenal. Primarily a CF but capable enough to play out wide if needed.

- Carlos Mane, 22 - 2 year loan from Sporting CP. Primarily a RW capable of playing LW and CF. Highly regarded in the Portugese youth national team set up and according to TM, he's their most valuable player (for whatever that's worth). He'll almost certainly be first or second choice at RW/M .

They already had deep squad at Sonora's preferred CM/AM and now they've got plenty of depth out wide as well.

 

I think I saw this picture before.

 

Yeah. It really sucks that he has to actually compete for his spot. Shucks.

 

More like: yeah, a real bummer that a playmaking midfielder has to play alongside some talented strikers.

Asano was off in Thailand scoring for Japan. The comparison is really odd, it's like claiming that Lee Nguyen is competing with Jordan Morris on the USMNT.
