The club says the '04 on its U15s is American. Evidently born in Atlanta, joined for the 2016/17 season. https://www.herthabsc.de/na/nachwuc...l?p=55&t=html/portraits_nachwuchs&id=19344_de https://www.herthabsc.de/na/nachwuchsteams/u15/kader/page/44-4599---.html Hertha lists a couple of other German clubs so he has clearly been in the country for a while.
I should mention that in the Detective Work thread, there's an '01 GK named Divine Imasuen who was recently in Berlin. No idea if they're related, but it's something. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/th...ive-work-thread.1987805/page-18#post-34698763
Note (and apologies to the family) -- I spelled their name wrong, but fixed it in the second post above. @dark knight or @bungadiri, could you change the name in the thread title to "Imasuen" when you get a chance? Thanks.
FuPa also has an Emmanuel Imasuen with a small Berlin-area club. Again, could just be coincidence, but figured I would mention. https://www.fupa.net/spieler/emmanuel-imasuen-1371164.html
FWIW Emmanuel and Divine are now teammates on TeBe's second team, as is Max Konrad. Divine and Max are also on the first-team roster. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/max-konrad-at-tennis-borussia-berlin.2008968/
and 03-Haake was just last year at TeBe. as for Joel Imasuen for someone listed as an attacker/striker he's already behind other players who unlike him as he's still in U16 those players are already playing for the U17 team. Hertha U17 has 4 04s in XI and another 2 who are bencher, playing up an age group. From those 4, 2 are attacking players as in can play attacking positions like W/CF and some of them are already rated by the club too. And seen mention of some interesting Hertha U16 players but never seen Imasuen's name as of yet.
'04 F Joel Imasuen had a brace for Hertha BSC U16 against VfB Auerbach. One to keep in mind for the next US U17s.— ChuckMe92 Soccer (@ChuckMe92Soccer) November 30, 2019
On his (private) Instagram account, he gives his nationalities as Nigerian and American. https://www.instagram.com/imasuen9/
Just as fyi, here in Berlin, youth has been and will continue to be in lockdown for the foreseeable future.
Based on some database and matchtracker sites, he's moved to the U19s of Viktoria Berlin. Viktoriamerica!
Suprised by 0 updates for him. Issue with him at Hertha is just too many more talented attackers. Some players need to move to smaller clubs to shine more. Do think funny that all fuss from USA POV is on Sanogo -04 CF Sanogo=3 goals and 2 assists in 13 matches, 944 min -04 CF Imasuen=6 goals in 11 matches, playing 475 min. 4 goals in past 3 matches. 4 goals in 5 XIs Imasuen=most productive USA eligible player from all 3 U19 leagues.

He seems to have Insta-announced it (in English). He got an "attaboy," figuratively speaking, from Sanogo. https://www.instagram.com/p/Ce6c-Nqts_D/

I hope so, but the jump between the division the U23s play in and the Bundesliga is presumably huge. The team is pretty much destroying everyone -- it's not just him. Even longtime lower-division YA dorks like me won't have heard of most of the clubs they're playing.
