An IP block would prevent all people using the same network from post, thus could result in an idiot damaging decent people.

Plus, it is NOT fun for the mods, as we like to catch our socks/trolls analogically ;)

I don't think it's even technically possible to block recording on an analog device like a VCR. Of course you lose the lovely hi-def, but what I love about analog is that it is less completely in the grip of the intellectual property Nazis. I would rather have a tape I can still rewatch on VCR at my own discretion as my own property, however low quality, than have nothing, or have to pay and inform Steve Jobs every time I want to watch something that I already paid for...

Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III

On the goals in the Kashima-Urawa game, the speaker at the stadium announced the goalscorers even in english. He didnt do it for substitutions and such though, only for the goals. I thought maybe it was a new thing to J.League this year, but on Omiya-Cerezo the next day there was no english whatsoever. Have anyone else witnessed that on any J.League-games in the past?

I was at Ibaraki in 2009 as well, and can't remember any english announcement made back then.

So I wonder if its because Kashima are in ACL that the speaker now have started to speak english as well, as perhaps it is a requirement for those matches to make announcements both in english and japanese, or only a plan by Kashima to become more "international"? If its the first, then Frontale, Gamba and Sanfrecce's speakers should use english as well?

Every team in world cup qualifying (199 teams) are in it. Japan were in the 06' game as well.

It's kinda like "ricky Ponting cricket", where the players have the correct names when they're playing the ICC Cricket world cup in teh game, but in friendly games their names are a little different (ie S.Warne - S.Wanre)

As long as its a FIFA World Cup game FIFA have the rights to teh tournament and its qualifying and by extension the teams in it.....hence Japan.

Japan couldn't be in FIFA 10 or 09 etc cause it's not about the World Cup.

Perhaps age catching up to him? With World Cups just few months ahead, it seems like Tulio might have to carry the burdens of Nakazawa's form unless there's a suitable replacement...

There is replacement. Everything seem to think Iwamasa is even better than Tulio and Nakazawa, I don't know I haven't seen him play so much. But Okada never uses Iwamasa anyway so.

Gonda really should have done better with Luca's shot and WTF was Ricardinho doing on Ishikawa's pass no need to be fancy.

Also congrats to Usami on his first J-League goal.

Saku, let's keep this thread for JNT match only and put the club football highlight on the other forum. ;)

Put the ACL highlights at ACL thread, because there aren't that many games a year. But make a new thread for J.League Highlights.

Hahaha love it. I'm sure Mr Perfect (Nakata) had something to say about that later.

Don't you know Mr. Perfect is Ernst Hoost, not Nakata! (Sorry, I watched too much K-1).

Still, those pants should never be worn by a guy... EVER!

has anybody seen this movie about Japan's WC in 2002...?

    http://www.amazon.co.jp/六月の勝利の歌を忘れない-日本代表、真実の30日間ドキュメント-DVD-BOX-岩井俊二/dp/B00006RTFC

If you haven't I STRONGLY suggest you do, to get an idea of how Troussier worked and of the spirit of that team.

Mind you: there are basically no highlights of the games, it is all about the players practicing, chatting, getting ready for games etc.

Also, I was wondering if somebody has seen this:

    http://www.amazon.co.jp/1436-ジーコ監督と...ップドイツの真実-DVD-スポーツ/dp/B000H30IV6/ref=pd_cp_d_3

Which I assume to be similar, but for 2006.

    Note = They're all Region 2 DVDs!

What's up with the media and their Troussier obsession?

Troussier is like lurking off Okada's misery. Instead he should worry about his own managerial career...
