Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III DVD encoding isn't a problem for me. What does the magazine look like? Off to Kyushu tomorrow but I can try to remember to drop into a 7-11 or something.
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III The dominant color is gold, and there is a picture of Osim. Or just ask for "Sakka daijes'to." Bookstores (in Kyushu as well) are much more likely to have it than 7-11z. Have a safe trip!
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III Thanks for the tip!! I assume this goes for all conbinis (FamiMart, Lawsons, Daily, etc.) then. I think there's a used store by the apartment, or I'll just go to Tenjin I guess.
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III Well . . . . the last two were actually scored in January, but apart from that, they were all pretty nice.
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III Oh! An interesting (I believe) discussion for those who can read Japanese http://supportista.jp/2009/11/news12122714.html You'll also find the link for the article in English...
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III Hi there. A few news from me before the season starts... - I am redesigning www.japanesesoccer.com as a static website that introduces japanese soccer - I won't update it because I have decided that I will write regularly for the Rising Sun News. I invite those of you who want to write and keep blogs going to join, because if we have enough writers, we can get linked to the big networks. - I have started a twitter.com for japanesesoccer, but let's see if I manage to keep it going before I make too much publicity for nothing. Finally, one prayer. I believe that with our websites, blogs and discussions WE are the ones who documenting Japanese soccer in English. All of us. It would be AWESOME if every few months (say every 3, 4 or even 6 months), somebody could collect the best articles and posts, and make a PDF to archive. If that happens, we could think to have it printed as the "Journal of Japanese Soccer," and at that point J.League could not deny us journalist passes anymore. Please think about it...
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III An important heads-up for all you fans who are in Japan. The annual "meikan" issues of all the soccer magazines go on sale tomorrow (Thursday, Mar 18). These provide the data on all players and teams and usually cost only around 500-700 yen for a year's worth of information. ------------- Also I want to reinforce what Goru said. I really think that the people who blog and post here are providing far more valuable information in English than any other source, even the official J.League and JFA organizations ( . . . . or maybe I should say - ESPECIALLY the official J.League and JFA organizations). If just a few more people can be convinced to contribute their articles to the RSN (whether cross-posted from your own blog or whatever) then Google News will start carrying links to those articles. The idea of a quarterly magazine is also a great one that I want to support and encourage. It would not be hard to produce and distribute it in .pdf form, so the cost of printing would be miniscule, and only required for those people who want to have a printed version (yet it still would qualify as a print publication). Once that happens, you should be able to get press passes to matches by identifying yourself as an RSN correspondent. Any help that you can provide, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and have a big impact on our ability to publicise the J.League to people around the world. If you are interested, contact me or Goru.
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III OK, I am officially twitting about Japanese soccer here: http://twitter.com/japanesesoccer I am planning to integrate this as well with the RSN system, as soon as I figure out how... If anybody is interested in co-twitting, let me know.
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III I bought both meikan issues (Digest and Magazine) and let me say that in terms of statistics and useful information, Digest is by far the better purchase. Also Matsu, FYI both retail for 800 yen (ouch!)
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III I prefer Digest in general, and I agree, the meikan is better. However, I bought both as well... waiting to complete the hat-trick with a pocket version...
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III I scored all three in one trip -- 2050 yen total! Its a shame that Striker stopped producing their Meikan; I always thought it was the best of the bunch.
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III Is that a J-League meikan in your pocket, or are you just pleased to see me? ... I'll get my coat
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III Both El Golazo and Sakka Magajin are making a pocket version, thus there is a chance for a poker! My son stole my big Sakka magajin's already, anyway...

Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III Too bad, well at least I can understand the dates when there's football games. That's something.
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III Here is a title from Nikkan Sports Online... 大宮、がん塚本に贈る首位発進/J1 Do you think that 「がん」thrown there almost as if it was a nickname is really needed in the title...? My gosh, speaking of respect for those who suffer.....
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III Look, it is only one retarded guy who has been writing the same pathetic things now for three years. Nobody really cares, we all know him... He is mentally impaired, so not much to do I don't mind him posting, because it takes me only a few seconds to delete his messages and red him--while it takes him a while to create socks, write stuff, post clips... I am an extremely patient guy, and time is on my side. Whatever he does, I ALWAYS WIN, so, no problem!
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III I just KNOW. We have the technology to confirm it, but usually it is not needed. I have been a teacher for 15 years now, I can recognize writing styles immediately. And he writes the SAME THINGS every time, with a very limited vocabulary and poor grammar. Ok. Let's move onward!
Re: Japanese Football Media Thread - part III Sorry to bring it up, but I'm just wondering. Doesn't BS have some sort of ip-blocker? Or does this guy go as far to use a proxy?
