Get both. An old Cobi Jones jersey would work (and be cheap) and you can then save the money to buy an Adu one once he takes the #10 shirt in 6 months or so.
His "amazing Gold Cup" constitutes as what? 20? 25 minutes? I would say "his brief time on the pitch was pretty effective" rather than an "Amazing Gold Cup..." That simply leads to believe that he's played the majority of the minutes offered.
amazing is relative we had like 1 good chance prior to him coming on (agudelo of the post) 3 with him
Jones has really stuck his nose in there the entire tournament and played like he has a pair of balls. A Jones jersey would make much more sense than an Adu jersey.
Sure...he had an amazing time during his short period while on the pitch - I can see that. But to say, "He's had an amazing tourney"? Really??
Can't try again on the facts, sorry. You can only play when you're put on the field. Life is good when you like both players.
Thank you. 30 friggin minutes does not make an "amazing tournament", sorry. If so then the standard for amazing is pretty low. And then we can all start tossing around terms like "amazing" and "great" at will.
I heard he also had a Grand Slam and an insane sundae at the Denny's Bradley took them to celebrate after the match. Does this count too?
Semantics aside, it's a good thing that Jones has shown who he is and what he does, and integrated into the team in this tournament. He's an underrated outsider no more.
For those of us who don't watch European soccer all that often it was interesting hearing peoples opinions on Jones when he made the change, it's also clear on why he scares the hell out of some people. He certainly plays with his heart on his sleeve; I like it but I'll admit, my butt-hole puckers when I see him come up behind an opposing player on the ball. He's kinda like a Pablo Mastroeni on steriods with a much better passing and field awareness. He has certainly gotten a nice taste of CONCACAF soccer in this tournament. It would be great if he can maintain the same level of play and fitness into the 2014 World Cup.
Naw...though I get your concern, he may be a bit rough as far as on-the-pitch elegance goes but his sweeps are usually pretty clean.
Was this the thread where someone posted the statistic that he's only gotten 4 red cards in his career? That's certainly a huge difference to other enforcers we've had. How many did Mastro have?
The guy has got it down to a science I'll admit that. His sweep of the Panamanian player down by our box in our first match against Panama was unreal and probably too good. The ref carded him probably thinking "there's no way that he got only ball on that play". He's a heck of a player and a real emotional leader there's no doubt about that.
Pablo? lol Dear god, he had waaaaaay too many in my mind. That's where the difference in players is noticable, Jones has a real quality to him, Pablo? Well............he was no stranger to going in hard.
