his mistake was even bothering to think he had a chance this season at Dortmund. Had he left in Summer when other clubs were interested in him he wouldn't have wasted half the season doing nothing and the other half in low level Scotland. This Celtic loan seemed like there wasn't much options. Dortmund head honchos have named Toljan as a player who can leave Dortmund since ike December and it takes him until the last day to transfer to move.

I see this as having little impact on the chances that Toljan plays for the USMNT. Whatever the slim odds were yesterday, they are the same today and tomorrow. He may play for the US. But it won't be because of this move. I do, however, think it reduces the chances of him playing for Germany anytime soon.

I’ve never been impressed with his offense or in possession. He still has the tools to be a good defender and functional USMNTer at either RB or LB.
