Why did Liverpool not use him that much? I don't remember much, but he was such a great player I think...

It was down to Houllier's tactics and a few recuring injuries to Jari. He prefered playing a direct game with Heskey and Owen. Amazingly Houllier somehow thought that Heskey was a great striker and that Litmanen and Fowler should be on the bench.

Litmanan was an amazing player and is a lifelong Liverpool fan. He even wanted to join Liverpool instead of Barca but we didnt take the risk on him at the time.

Great, great player its a tragedy that he played so little for us.

A real mystery fo rme that one. A genuinely gifted player who Houlier got and, then somehow, didn't use. As you said, the injuries didn't help but I reckoned with him and Murphy in the side we did actually have 2 decent passers of the ball.
