Someone! Please tell me, why did they pour that much water on pitch? It's not at all dry period yet here, why?

1-1 , i don't know what to think of this really. Japan owns the game (as usual) but still they can't put of an win. Should we blame the strikers? Or someone else?

I wonder what happens with Okada now, this match was a 3 pointer for me.

It's the same old story isn't it? Japan has loads of possession, but all of it is in front of the opponent's defence. Not going to score goals, if you don't break down that wall being put up.

I thought the ball movement and off-the-ball running was really lacking in imagination, as well as being awfully slow, at times. And of course, the strikers need to be 1 yard away to score.

    Completely pathetic.
Yes, they should have scored more, but also they once again gifted a goal to their weak opponent.

    2 words: counter attacks.

We've always struggled to finish... but wtf is with the counters lately.

Totally agreed. And Australia kicked butt today racking up the goal counts. I have a feeling that this draw will come back and hurt us later.

Japan played with a lof of anxiety, sometimes three or four players wanted to finish at the same time, the best example was the ball that hit in the Nakazawa´s head. They should win all games at home. Fortunately the group isn´t very strong. I´m sure that Japan will go to South Africa yet, but Okada... is doing horrible.

Japan should have a look at South Korea and Australia's matches.
Both of them scored 4 goals today.
Its thanks to Australia that Japan are in 2nd now.

ouch. thought japan would have won by at least 3 goals. even with this slip, japan should still qualify for the WC. only real threat is australia, but u guys should comfortably fininsh 2nd. don't worry about this one. still in good shape.

I actually thought this was a shocking, shocking performance by Japan. There was no passion, no inspiration, no drive in any of the players at all today. Maybe Uchida was one, but even he died off dramatically in the second half. We looked bereft of ideas going forward and coming out of defence we were terribly lazy and slow. This was one of the worst performances I've seen from Japan in recent memory. It's as if they are content to just keep the ball in midfield and consider that a victory. It's really quite distressing from a fan's point of view. An example of our complete incompetence in the final third was Okubo's shot from about 30 yards when Tamada was in a great position on the left. It's as if they interpret "shoot more often" as "shoot whenever you can see the goal". Sorry, but I'm extremely angry with this whole association at the moment. Okay, it may not be his fault, but Okada must go immediately. The team looks disjointed and frankly does not deserve to win playing like this.

Yeah, the game sucked. Tulio can be lose his concentration on defense quite easily... We should just move tulio to central midfield defense (what suzuki used to do for us). What ever happened to suzuki and Komano? They were a solid defensive presence for us.

I was hoping koroki would come on for tamada earlier, so we could see koroki and okubo pair up.

Anyway, i woke up at 6am to watch the match and I am regretting it now. I missed my lab this morning.

u-16 lost to s. korea too...

Watching the highlights, seems like there was plenty of penetration and opportunities. Finishing and counter attacks are the achilles heels. What has Okada done on either of these fronts?
