Matsu's article on the Korea game...

Gotta love the part that goes
    Show Spoiler
: "The look on Kawashima's face as Ki Sung-Yong placed the ball on the spot for the second time that evening spoke volumes. His eyes hardened into a single point of crystalline intensity, like black holes in space from which even light itself could not escape. The match was over before Ki even took his kick, because nothing short of a bullet was going to get past that impenetrable glare."

If memory serves me right, Nagatomo took he PK with the right foot. Funny since he's a lefty. I wonder why.

I was quite amused by this also, especially since Ki Sung-Yong WAS NOT one of the penalty takers. But why let facts get in the way of a good yarn?

At any rate, I can echo the disappointment at the way Park kept flopping around like a fish on a line. I had this song in my head every time he flashed the disappointed eyes at the referee.

He always looks a righty for me, like Kagawa, righty play on the left.
He and Kagawa could have weak foot 7 on PES I guess.

We're through the looking glass to be sure.

One day we should all coordinate and start an English thread on 2ch's soccer forums. No trolling or spamming, just J-soccer discussion. I wanna see what the reaction would be.

That's my thought too, but I wanna see if we can get up to 100 legitimate posts in English before that happens.

Yup. He seems comfortable enough to hit some crosses on his left peg, but for the most part he's a right-legged player. He spent quite some time at RB for FC Tokyo (and even now at Cesena? Remember seeing him at least once there).

Yea he dribbles with his right foot.

Honda, Park, Schwarzer, and Djeparov shortlisted for the player of the tournament.

Guys, Japanese SB are trained to play both sides. It is very common.

Yasuda and Uchida too can play on both sides.
