Lengthy discussion, no. Perhaps a fight to the death will suffice though.:p

What I would really like is somebody taking the plunge and editing discussions like the one above into articles to both publish online, and in a journal as well. These discussion, even when harsh and without necessarily deciding "who is right," are the history of Japanese soccer as seen by Westerners and are imo an invaluable treasure.
I really-really wish someday somebody will get on it, and I swear I'd do it of days would be 30 hours long instead of 24....

(Typing from a JR train, by the way, while also kinda working...)

    Seriously, Japan?

I better hear booing after this final whistle... 1-0 WITH the foreign-based players is inexcusable in what's basically a meaningless game.

What's the point in booing ? They won't run faster, they won't score more goals. There is the result, and what they done during the game. If they gave everything, tried to score as much as they could, I don't see any single reason to boo.

They need sometime to work together.
2-0 in competition qualify match consider very good result already.
Anyway how is S.Nakumura playing this match??

    Re: Japanese NT @ ACQ 2011 [R]

They only had one full day to work together. That lineup was supposed to give as many of the euro's a chance to play cause they can't play serbia and i doubt that's what okada thinks should start necessarily.

Nakamura played okay, clearly a few cobwebs in his game at the moment but obviously that's just a lack of match fitness. Played some good passes, wasn't great and lost the ball in a few bad times including one which made him look pretty stupid trying C.Ron a bahraini back just to lose track of where the ball was and lose possession.

I thought it was a decent game but we really do stuggle against teams that sit back and defend. Good thing we don't play any nation like that at the World Cup. If we had at least one player that can change the pace of the game, the game would go so much better.

japansoccer3 on youtube always puts up great highlights about 10min long for each game.

On april 7 when japan play serbia, it'll be the j.league NT so lets not all freak out and wave our arms about in panic when the J.League NT inevitably doesn't do as well as we would like.

I'm not really surprised by the result.

It's a typical Japanese result. Many chances, but poor finishing.

Let's not panic so quickly. How many days did they have to prepare anyways? I'm sure after a couple of training sessions together the level of play will be much better.

it was a 48 hour matchday so Okada effectively had one full day with the team to train then game.
