Rumour about the move to newly promoted Lierse SK was already before or after 1st match at WC i think. Deal is almost done afaik.
I actually like this. Lierse SK is a nice little club , alot of Norwegian profiles played there. Belgium is good place to start a long and succesfull european career.
Oh dear, after the Russian league next they're going to feed us the Belgian League...?? Really, he couldn't find a club in Germany??
What a waste !! Leaving a prestigious club to join a very mediocre team/league ! He could have joined a far better side. Well, I hope he won't stay there for a long time. If he plays well enough he'll rapidly join a bigger club. I am not completely sure of this but I think J-League is very poorly scooted by Europeans. By leaving Japan he might have a greater chance of attracting good Euro teams. PS: Oh, I think I remember that name, must be that club owned by an Egyptian.
Belgium itself isn't even assured to exist actually !! Imagine the poor guy finding himself in 4 th French/Dutch division all of sudden !
It makes me the mad most being a Frontale fan, but Kawashima is an ambitious guy. I would not be surprised to see him playing in a bigger league in a couple of years. It will be tough for him. Goalkeepers probably have the most vocal position and communication is vital, but if anyone can do it its Kawashima.
Well, Belgium's league isn't a big one, but it's frequently scouted by other European leagues I think. Kawashima has a good chance of getting noticed there. About Honda, I really want him to leave CSKA. It might be because I'm Finnish and even live almost right next to the border we share with the Russians, but I don't really like the country. I'd like to see him with Man United, but I think he might get buried in the immense amount of competition at first. United are constantly buying new talent and also putting in their own youngsters. I think an English mid-table side would suit him well. And once he's established himself in the league, aim for the top.
It depends what You're aiming - for European football he's too old I think. For Asian - where's better place to play than Urawa?
Unfortunately for Nagatomo, FIGC introduced yesterday one strict regulation - only one foreigner can be signed (it's a yearly limit - that was Adriano) instead of two. I wonder how they are going to spend all those money? Houndreds of millions for players like Amauri or Gillardino? I thought that we're living in capitalism and better worker could be replaced for weaker one. That's stupidity at it's best. If they think that can save Italian football by doing this they're wrong. Local 'stars' will only get convicted that they're best ones in the world, then they'll play in Euro and story will be the same. They should start by training youth players, not modyfing laws of business!
According to this article there are alot of "big clubs" looking at Honda. The list includes: AC Milan Valencia Sevilla Chelsea Man City Fiorentina Lyon http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20100703-00000025-spn-socc AC Milan would not be a bad choice, he would probably get a lot of playing time due to the age of their players. Valencia sold Silva and Villa so they might have money to spare, but from what I read they are extremely cash-strapped so I have no idea what kind of money they are willing to spend. CSKA have done really well to pick up Honda before the WC. Venlo must be kicking themselves for selling him. They could probably have gotten 3x what they sold him to CSKA for.
Was it sure that Honda will play all matches at WC last December, when Venlo was deciding to sell him? I thought that he won his place over Nakamura only after very good CL matches thi year...
