Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] If indeed Matsui does move, I can see him being pretty effective in Spain or Italy, since he'd be like greased lightning compared to the play in those countries. He does seem a little lightweight still for the EPL though... I'm worried that Roma/Lazio might just plop him down on the bench for long periods though, just like Oguro and Ogasawara.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] Agreed, i doubt he could get a work permit to play in England anyway since he only has about 3 NT caps.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] I have never heard Matsui before, but if he goes there then he will be the second japanese in Romaafter nakata.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] In Italy and Spain he would be butchered on regular basis. An absolute no-no. It' not only teh defenders: it is teh press, the super-harsh training, teh stress... Really: NO! EPL might be ok, but there are problems with the Visa, I reckon, plus he would have to play in a mid-rank club. IMHO, the best options would be Holland (a big club, such as Ajax, PSV or Feyenord--prfect as a launchpad); or Germany, in a good Bundesliga club. However, considering how Le Mans is doing very well both with playing-style and results, I suppose he's good there for this season.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] But unfortunately Le mans was trashed 3-1, in the end.... Anyway, Daisuke is apparently playing great.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2007-2008 [R] From the sound of it, Nakamura was behind a few of Celtic's best moves: http://football.guardian.co.uk/Observer_Match_Report/0,,2156390,00.html
